No illegal activity remember. No "gangs" of MX-3's hanging out in a parking lot, no MX-3's doing burnouts, no loud disruptive music coming from any MX-3's.

I thought that if film or photo of you is taken, with or without your consent, it becomes the property of the person who took the picture. Otherwise tabloids wouldn't have their front cover pictures and other dumb things that show up on TV. All taken without consent of many of the people on film.

Barry...you're right, we need the raw & more storage space
hy...that sounds right to me. I guess we don't need their consent. What about license plates though...they're sometimes blurred

I think I found the software to create the DVD. It's called ULead DVD Workshop. Anyone here got it? If not, I can purchase a used copy online for pretty cheap. (since it's $299 new).
ULead DVD Workshop Compare
[ November 23, 2002: Message edited by: MikeX-3 ]

Yes, if we show a person and don't say their name then it isn't illegal. We would have to blur out any lisence plates that aren't okayed by the owner, those can be traced and stolen. Since we would be selling this to a private audiance then there is no need to blur faces. However, like you see on Jackass episodes, publically displayed images of people not consenting are to be blurred to protect their privacy.
I read about these laws a long time ago, I'll try to find a good referance we can trust. That's the just of it though.
Personally, and I know I'll get some flak from moderators, I made those suggestions earlier under the pretext that they would be good scene ideas. I'd like to see the DVD with people doing stupid stuff with their cars, some informative sections (maybe some of the senior members could make or submissions by members), and a nice photo section where we can look through a photo book.
Otherwise I get the feeling it'll be a short DVD. Lets see some good shots of driving past the camera, owners popping the hood to reveal a show quality engine or maybe a big turbo or supercharger resting there.
In the mean time, if I can make some submissions and anyone feels they wouldn't be appropriate for the DVD than thats fine with me, just let me know.

There's a company that buy DVD-R's off of us, i could ask then the cost of DVD Burning for wedding and such, i could ask them a price for good volume DVD burning, plus i can get DVD-R's at cost.

quote:
No illegal activity remember. Burnouts are exhibition of speed and is illegal. How about Burnouts at the track? Music would be cool to demo people systems, but not disruptive.
BTW, we gotta add outtakes :D
