helpwith tires for my rims

Post by Casino »

ok i got some dunlop Fm 901 tires last may for my rims, i figured they could last me maybe 2 summers cause i switch to snow tires in early fall.
now its the end of summer and my summer tires are worn very badly.
is there any tire thats not high performance, that isnt a Z rated tire that i can get to last me a couple of years cause i cant afford new tires every spring lol.<p>right now i have 205/40/16, ive looked around and i cant find anything expcet like 40/ 45 profile tires. is there any tire that can fit on the mx-3 that will last me longer ?

If you don't care about performance or having a Z-rated tire, you shouldn't have ANY issues with finding a tire to last a good while. Before I bought my wheels I was using Nitto NT450s on the stock 15s (205/55/15), and they were AWESOME tires for how long they last (Z-rated too). Of course that is my opinion. I wasn't exactly nice to the tires but they didn't care. I would comment on my current tires, but I haven't had them long enough to say how long I expect them to last. I like Nitto tires, I should have bought more.

In my case...i went into my local tire shop in March 2003 and said "I want a tire that will last me at least 2 or 3 summers. I travel just over 700km's every week, with 600km's of that highway. What do you recommend."

The tire guy ended up selling me a set of 205/40/17 Bridgestone Potenzas 950RE (70,000km warranty) at $1012.00cad (taxes included). These tires retail for ~$312.00cad each...i got a deal.

Since then, i have put just over 40,000km's on em' and i have next to no visable uneven wear and i still seem to have a ton of tread left

you have an alignment problem, not a tirewear problem.
