What's involved in micro polishing? never heard of that..I'll ask the shopOriginally posted by OsoSlo z28:
if you're going to have them mess with the crank, look into micro-polishing as well.

Re: look what I got today
Isn't micropolishing the crank almost like honing it to get more oil to the 6th bearing (Huge proble, with our car)

Re: look what I got today
Very sweet. Wish I had the money to get stuff like that. As is, though, the $100 I dished out to get used ZE pistons is alot for me.
Anyways, if that's a Cyborg kit, check the bearing clearances. There's a thread on Probetalk about bearings included in the kit not matching up right.

Re: look what I got today
hey guys I got a question..
while browsing toga's parts I noticed the mx3 and mx6/626 have the same main bearings but different rod bearings..
isn't the rods bearing suppose to be the same since it's the same crankshaft ?
and what are main bearings? You think I should buy them for my rebuilt ?

Re: look what I got today
they are not the same crank.
kl03=74.2mm stroke
kl08=69.6mm stroke
the stroke is all in the crank. Plus k08 smaller bore so the rod end is going to be smaller to drop down the cylander=smaller bearings. You are going to need Main bearings, rod bearings, thrust washers and all the seals.

Re: look what I got today
you dont need to do anything to "prep" it technically aside from general maintenance.... but you'll only be able to safely run low boost... the more you do to the engine the higher boost you can run... i'd rather go with b6t pistons which lower compression to 7.0:1 thought cause supposedly that means you can safely run higher boost.... but those wesico are bad...
