RC injector question?

Post by mx3optidrive »

I know someone selling 4- 550cc RC injectors which are saturated, only thing is that they were used in a turbo prelude and I was just wondering if they would be any different than ones from our cars? I am doing a turbo and was going to order the injectors but if these will fit then I will get them from him. Thanks in advance.

i think id just get some 440cc turbo eclipse inj off of ebay since you can get them cheaper but even those are over kill.

I am using 370cc's in my car and they are more than enough. My Super AFC is almost maxed out at -40% on some spots. I am actually thinking of going to 330cc to make it a little easier. I run RICH AS HELL.

I am running a T3/T4 turbo and planning on doing some motor work. I will be starting off with the boost around 14psi and eventually going to 20psi give or take. Which injectors would you recommend?

Well, lets just say we can estimate maximum power around 350 to 400hp. With this, we can calculate hp into a simple equation used to find the right injector size.

Pounds of fuel per hour per injector

expected hp * 0.55
---------------------
number of injectors

If we use 350hp into the equation, times it by the (bsfc) .55, we come up with 192.5. Now, divide that by the # of injectors (4) and we get 48 lb per hr. If you need to convert to cc's per min., then multiply 48 by 10.5. So now it would be around 500cc's per min. Your 550cc injectors would be enough fuel to support 350bhp. You would need to upgrade if you were to go beyond 350 imo. It's always better to have a slightly richer mixture than being too lean when your at full throttle. As for the idle, a good fuel controller will compliment the larger injectors. It's going to be needed.

Not sure on that. Use a search for the answer, and you'll find it.
