its 2.5" with crush bent normal steel.. I may end up reworking some stuff .. but it should get fitted this weekend, from there i can send you some pictures and get some proper bends ordered (mandrel) and make some stainless steel sets. If I can squeeze 3" ill try as piping is relativly cheap.
Ive just finished installing the guages and such for testing so hopefully this weekend ill have everything wraped up. :)

2.5? must be the up pipe..
what bout the collectors? 2? 2.25?
don't go with 3" stay away from it..you want your turbo to spool right? :)

so it's going to be x" mandrel (collectors) merging into 2.5 mandrel to turbine?

I think we should disable smilies in this thread. Starting to get annoying...but anyway, depending on what I decide to do with my money, I may be able to find someone to do the piping as well. I've got about 3k saved up but I'm not sure if I want to go turbo or put it away to live off of while in school. I already talked to a guy around here who is really good with turbos, I'm talking twin turbo 65 Mustang in car magazines good, all custom work done by him. He said he will do piping for 400 bucks. However, I have his phone number in my old cell phone which i no longer have a charger for...so if I can get the number I will most likely go turbo since he will be offering the piping at such a good deal. Havent talked to him about any sort of mass production deals, but if I decide to boost I will definitely ask him. This is in no way a promise to deliver a turbo kit, but I'm just letting you all know what may happen...I think someone needs to get a kit going, obviously this one is going nowhere.

400$ is nice ...my plan B is to get the pipes done by one of my freind..highly experience in welding...he charges 600$ for the pipes + material...if this thing doesn't go trough I'll get them done by him

If I cant get ahold of this guy in town, think your friend could make a set of pipes for me as well?

yeah sure he could do it for other peeps too..I'll still wait for Korban's set-up..if it's not my taste I'll go with my friend's set-up..it was 600cad$ not us...but you have to buy probably another 200$ for mandrels..so 800cad your pipes are done...

Korban: what do you think will be an average price for the pipes ??

well if its stainless piping you want, the materials is only 80canadian for the piping and about 20 for the flanges, the rest is labor. mandrel bends are 20$ can each. Ive had to scrap 2 sets so far as they dont fit properly. ;( . for this reason its good to work with a regular steel set until a proper fitting can be made. ill be going back the shop later today providing the wife lets me.. and making a new route for the pipes and a quick mock up to be completed monday... this also includes slightly larger headers for myself as i am still using the stock mx3 onles. The overall final price of this should be 500can for the pipes.. no more.. sorry this is taking so long I only have limited free time to work on this project. heres some pictures of the gauges, youll probably want to grab some of these aswell to help you tune your set up.. pyrometer and boost gauage.

seriously now, have you got any idea what you are talking about? or maybe instead of af gauge you just meant to say exhaust gas temperature gauge? because a pyrometer is used to measure temerature...

yes a pyrometer mesures tempreture.. thus jam it in the downpipe so you can get a good exhaust read out to see how rich or lean your runing duh.. someones not been to a dnyo... and unless you have a wideband o2 sensor the a/f gauge really is just pretty lights :) lol

Right, words on the new pipes also..
After scraping the last set. I brought in some additional expertise to asses the rougting.
the pipes will flow as follows. the down pipes will be made again and the collector area (the y) will be reversed so its pointing forward instead of backwards, the pipe will travel up in front of the engine (yes fits even with ac :) ) to the turbo, from the turbo(exhaust side) will travel over the transmission and behind the engine and hook backinto flex pipe!!! yes this is awsome.. you know why ? no bending of the cross member !!!
2" down pipes to the Y of 2.5" or 3" (see what i can sqeeze) to turbo, 3" from turbo.. now there is a catch to this.. the fuel filter will have to find a more snug location to live on the firewall and the front return line to the rad will have to be moved a little (this is done by simply getting longer hose)

so here is the little list of things to do.

1) move the battery to the trunk(boot)
2) relocated the fuel filter so its tighter against the firewall (leaving more space for pipe)
3) extend (replace with longer hose) return(water from engine) rad line.

I'll be moving some parts around tommorow so i can post pics and show you good locations :) , and hooray looks like ill be back at the shop again this weekend to roll out this, my final attempt.
parts only cost me very litte.. the 3" flex pipe was 60$ if anyonw is wondering.

ive also mounted the nitrous kits in there too :) now to find a place for the on switch heheh.

please do not use 3" from the outlet of turbine to cat..it's way overkill..IMO and Corky Bell's :) 3" is for 600hp engines...2.5 is more than enough...the rest of the pipes seems to my taste...there was a tread about this on PT and they were saying 2.5 is more than enough for whatever you have done to your 2.5
