Body kit molding
Body kit molding
I'm planning on molding the side skirts (when i get the kit) on my car (when i get my car) because I hate that "stuck on" look as many agree...i was wondering if anybody can link me to a page about molding for newbs or any kind of info about installing body kits...
Re: Body kit molding
it may cost more but it is worth it to have a professional do it, and if you screw it up( not saying you will just saying) it will cost more for them to fix the fups and then mold them to your car.

Re: Body kit molding
Nothing personal...But I watched the body shop do parts of mine...uhhh There's alot more work there than most ppl think. I mean, you really want those things to be on there! If things twist, or crack, or anything you want those to last! If they don't that a new paint job to a n entire side of the car! lol (fender, rocker, jams, quarterpanel wich goes all the way around!)
Don't get me wrong here..I'm not saying you can't do it. And I relize that you just wanted a link. But I just thought thta I'd bring this to your attention as mine were just donw less than a month and a half ago!
Good luck, whatever you do.

Re: Body kit molding
I say try it..it doesn't cost a lot to try it ..and if it's not like you wanted the bodyshop will finsih it...That's what I did..I molded my kit myself and I had never touch to fiberglass before..takes patience and time but saves you money in the long run

Re: Body kit molding
its super easy to mold sideskirts. If you ge any universal ones...or the ones for our cars..just use fiberglass.. dont ever use bondo of course lol. Its easy to work with the resin. They wont break..if they do..well its easy to fuix em. a body shop can finish the work for u once its molded. You just need the right measurements. Make sure you use gloves...resin sticks ugly to hands.

O cool..yah thanks for the replies. For some reason i thought that you might use white lighting? Its a kind of a past that you can use to repare holes in ur car and i thought that could be used to mold the skirts. Anybody who knows anything about molding things or have done it before feel free to give me some pointers
Re: Body kit molding
Oh and does anybody know how much it costs on average for a shop to do the moldings and paint the car (just a gloss...)
