Sunroof seal

Post by mx3man83 »

I pulled all of the seals and gaskets off my car when it got painted, and dang it, I done forgot how to put the seal back on the sunroof. I remember there was a small gap in between the two ends...was it in the front or the rear?? Thanks sunroof guys... :2thumbsup:

I dont know if theres a "right" way because ive seen the the seal mounted both ways, but i can tell you what i think is the betterone..

And that is having the gap in the back, because if you have it in the front and it have been raining earlier, the water gets in the seal itself and runs in the car when you open the sunroof :(

Have a question about this seal/rubberlist myself though... If buying a new from mazda will it still be too short to fit firmly together where the ends meet eachother?? Or did mazda have some jointconnection to put in or around the ends making it complete waterproof?? :confused2:

Maybe im just missing that part on my MX...

They are all designed to fit with a gap. Not sure why, but hey, I don't know why mazda did alot of things. For example, why they didn't put the kl03 in the mx-3 from the factory. That is a whole new post, but anyway, thanks for replying.
