I did it, i painted my interior white to match the cars colour... what i did was remove all the parts i wanted to paint, washed then sanded then down and used plastic primer, then added very light coats of "krylon" plastic spary paint. works very well.... Check my cardomain site out, turned out great.. also when your done throw on LOTS of clear coating and let sit for at least 24-36 hrs before handing, apply clear coat then let sit for a few hours, put another one on, get my drift. ne ways check my mx3 out, ne more questions, email me or MSN me johno_brownrigg@hotmail.com
All good info so far, just don't rush anything. And the more clear coat the better. My cardomain page has some shots of my white accents and then my chrome ones. Problem with the chrome paint though was when you put a clear on it the paint lost all of it's reflectivity. So I got it sprayed in some silver now, with a clear. Clear is key if you wanna wash it without taking paint off
what about the whole dash? i got a tan one, hate it, i thought bout gettin a junked black one or summin, but would the Krylon with a clear coat stick to the vynil?
*note i will not be doing the rx7 hatch conversion, id rather get a BP*

yes it will..krylon is what I used IIRC..and BTW and sticked better the the vinyl than the plastic.
Thanks for the reply's so far..I know that it will look good just havent got a clue as to witch colour i should use
And "baby" your dash looks good, but wont the paint/dye easily be scratched off the vinyl??
Im not gonna paint that much myself, but the things im gonna paint,i want to be sure that the paint wont chip of if i give it an evil look
In short i guess im looking for something thats quite durable and that i dont have to treat it like "dic-kskin" to keep the paint from chipping and falling of LOL

The most durably way to paint your parts is to do it this way.
removed all the plastic parts you want to paint, clean them with alcohol (rubbing, not whiskey), sand the parts with 600 grit, clean the parts again, primer them with an auto body epoxy filling primer, let dry 4 hours, sand again with 800 grit sand paper, clean with a clean lightly damp cloth, let dry 15 min, primer again with the same primer, repet steps untill the part is totaly smoth, paint with auto body base clear or enamel (probably best to have a body shop paint them).
If the paint can protect you car from 10 years of outside abuse, it can certianly protect your plastic inside your car.
I did mine this way and most people think my plastic has been fiberglassed somehow. is VERY durable and flexable, just clean it with water or any car cleaning product. you can even polish it and wax it if you want, its just car paint afer all.

How does this guy know so much?
He's a licenced BMW technician.
"Curt" Thats excactely what i thought, after all the bumpers are just painted plastic
But how about not sanding it down to maintain the "nupply" effect would that look bad? or was it only because you wanted a smooth surface??

Hi Dennis, I have the same exterior color as you, and I went with a painted (not dyed) silver interior. check out my cardomain page for a look see.
Use "FILLER" primer for a really smooth shiny finish, and don't sand too hard.
Hey wilhelm,i know its a bit out of my own topic, but i saw you drive in a right hand drive MX..
I had another post some time ago, trying to find a original driversside doorlock actuator for my passenger door
Youre very welcome to send me a PM if you'd like?
Oh and by the way..the reason for this is that the MX-3 never came with an doorlock actuator in the passengersdoor as to my knowledge..
