SRD Extension Rod Bushing Install

Post by millaj01 »

Hey, to anyone that's installed the SRD extension rod bushing on their car....

Please forgive my whining, but what trick did you use to actually get the thing installed? Removing the existing bushing was somewhat painful, but doable. Trying to get the new one inserted so far has been fruitless. The piece seems overly large to fit the extension rod end....probably no fault on SRD's part....but am I supposed to shave/sand a large amount of material off to get it to fit? The other factor is leverage, of course. With the transverse member and flex pipe in the way, there's really no room to move or orient channel locks or cobra pliers to bring them to bear.

Any advice on the install is greatly appreciated. It's been a frustrating ordeal thus far....

Hey Gro,

Your online install instructions were perfect. :D

For whatever reason (anger?), using the mounting bolt/nut to simply squeeze the bushing into the rod never occurred to me. Took some doing, but I got the mother on there.

Thanks so much!
