Momo steering wheel Hub.

Post by Custommx3 »

I recently purchased a Momo Fighter steering wheel for my GS cause the stock one is ripped. Anyone know where I can get a hub for this?
Ive heard you can use a Grant hub adapter or a sparco as long as its a 6 bolt. Anyone know?
Id rather buy the most inexpensive one I an find.
Thanks.

momo hub adapters are $65.00, not too bad.
as far as i know(from what i have seen the grant ones are kinda crappy and its pot luck to find the right one.if you do decide to go with the grant one you will need to purchase or make a spacer to give you a bit more space between the wheel and stearing column ( sparco makes them in like 10 colors).
It has been a while since I did mine but I remember that the momo one was simple and easy.

Here's the link - it's $65 bucks which actually is pretty cheap when you think about it.
Jackattack - could you give a little more insight on the MOMO wheel install, did you install it yourself, or is it possible/safe to do it yourself if you can do it right? A little more insight as to how you went about the install would be amazing! thanks so much!
Hope this helps Barry!

I find the info you're getting about the Grant adaptors to be very odd. I am using a grant adaptor. No problem at all. Plenty of space and easy as hell to install and the quality is fine. All I had to do to get it was ask the parts guy and it was ordered for me. I got it the next day for less than $30. What's the problem with that? You can see a pic of my steering wheel with the grant on my cardomain page.

But any Canadian Tire can get it. Pep Boys for you Americans. I don't want to say it will fit all steering wheels but I think it will. There are a few parts that came with the install kit I couldn't use. The main part in the kit you need is the toothed sprocket that goes on the spindle of the steering colomn.

I'm flattered....that's the 1st time anyone posted a pic of my car here....I don't even know how to do that.
That is an AUTOTEKNICA wheel. Probably one of the cheapest you can get. Better than APC but it's just a simple wheel. I paid $100
If you have airbags I WON'T give you an answer cuz I don't know. I don't have airbags. I wouldn't mess with that though.
And since I don't have a Momo wheel I can't say if it will fit. But I don't see why not. My buddy has a Momo wheel and a Grant kit and it fit.

sorry you said you don't have airbags. Then it's easy. Pull old wheel off....put new wheel on. Horn is 1 wire. But it is tricky because the contacts from the OEM hub to the aftermarket hub don't reach. But it's a simple obstacle to overcome with a little patience.

Barry, I don't know if you've ordered your hub yet, but I got mine from http://sportscar-parts.com/index.html for around $65. I didn't do a whole lot of searching for the best price, but this seems to be the average, and of course MOMO is always expensive. Here's an older pic of my MOMO Tornado steering wheel, but unfortunately you can't see the hub adapter:
Image
Btw, I ordered an extension for mine so the steering wheel didn't sit so close to the turn signal and wiper switches.
