I cant seem to find the speed sensor anyone know where it is? I suspect the guage cluster itself is good, because occasionally it seems to start getting a signal and the needle hops about for a bit. Also I pulled the guage cluster out removed, checked and reconnected all the connectors. So I dont think it would be in those connections so I assume its the connection at the trans or the sensor itself. Does this make sense or am I missing something to check.
Thanks,
Rik

just got done getting mine "rebuilt" corrosion on the connectors. the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) should be attached to the transmission. right near the opening for filling the tranny w/fluid. good luck finding just that though mazda will sell you the whole wiring harness for 450 bucks but it only cost me labor to have mine redone.

I believe the speed sensor is above and between the axels...

Thanks guys, I'll have to look again. Sadly there doesn't seem to be any good salvage yards around here with MX-3 parts.
