not to "dis" any of you purchasers, but maybe before you buy one, ask for the exact code on the heads and maybe even a pic. Let this be a lesson for future buyers...

If I was to guess, these idiots that sell import engines probably think that if its a 2.5 in a mazda from japan then its automatically a KLZE.

I got my KLZE from Foreign Engines in Lynnwood WA, it's been in for a year and done over 25,000km - no problems no oil usage - all it's done is to wear out the synchros on my transmission due to the extra power!

I made sure I saw all the codes first - just follow curtklze's advice - it works - take a flashlight with you or ask for a photo of inside the front valve cover - if there is any hint of crap build up inside you don't want the engine as it will have been abused & neglected.

It's easy to get a KLZE if you do your homework first - get the photos of what you are buying or even better go see it - the best advice is be patient and get the right engine, there is no rush if you end up buying a pos!!!

that is definitely a KL-DE Ford Probe Engine.

How can I tell?

1: ford valve covers. NO overseas Ford had a KLZE of any kind....so there is no way this could be a JDM motor

2: short neck manifold only came on the KL-DE's

3: the rounded ports on the head are also implications that it is a KL-DE. KLZE's have square ports

Tell them you will report them to the Better Business Bureau. That usually makes people like this change their tune and gets things done. That is like the ultimate threat.

Alright, I'm going to say 2 magical words for all of you to use. Attorney General. Get a letter telling your problem, and how they're in the fault, then send it out to the AG of your state, their state(if outside of yours), and the company themselves. I can garuntee something will get done (believe me, I know  ) .

the wont listen swearing and hanging up on me.
I have reported them to rcmp and i am going to call there local police.. This is fraud order a klze and get a ford probe engine... mmm lets see 200$ at a scrap yard vs a klze 1200$ mmm then they want nearly 50% for taking back what they ****ed up thats wrong. thats fraud . i am so mad right now. i dont even want to think about it.. I spent nearly 5k in performance parts to go with this engine and now i get something that is not that much more powerful than my stock engine plus it looks like someone had a very good time with it... looking inside its grunged to ****...

all i gotta say now is anyone that wants a klze in the ontario, canada area stick with A-Spec... money deinatly talks there but they know everything about engines and mazdas so your not going to have to play any games...

Thanks all for you comments and help.

I haven't heard of anyone who's gotten a good engine from Osaka yet. I know Talon 66 got a real ZE, but it was a straight neck when they told him it was a curved. He's also got all sorts of crap goign on with it right now. These guys really suck. :freak: Who can say...
