Wack Distributor plz read

Ok so i started my car the other day <92 gs>, it was running like a piece of s---, like i was running on 3 cylinders, no power nothing. So I figured it the distributor, popped the hood and low and behold the dist is shorting out, i can acutally see the fricking spark arcing from under the boot on the plug wire.<BR>So im like WTF! i got NGK wires they came with the car. they looked old, so hell i replace the plugs and wires....worked good....but i was in drive thru and my car died that night...then for a week it was fine..but then it was raining out and that s--- started again...arcing out from under the little boot on the dist! I don't understand how, this blows my mind because the dist cover is plastic so WTF! anyways it only does it when its wet out and now its winter so no problems....anyways anyone know how to cure this problem once and for all?

Did you try replacing the distributor cap and rotor? It might have a crack.<BR>Andy P. 93 GS
