16 EGR Position\function Sensor

Post by DarrenMcD »

I have a 93 gs. I am recieving a 16 EGR Position\function Sensor from my computer diagnostic codes.
I have a couple of questions.
1. will I fail my emissions test with this code>
2. What does this code relate to?
3. How do I fix this code and around how much is it going to cost me.
I am at the mercy of the Mazda Gods on this one. I have little knowledge on this code.

The EGR position sensor basically detects movement of the EGR valve in response to the ECM signals. If you have this code, then the EGR valve is not opening/closing as it should.
See the online shop manual, section F2 (I think, the K8 section) for more details.
