Cuspid 1600w amp

Post by hgallegos915 »

Ok..this was an ebay amop I bought. I dont really know much about amps, but I did habve it in my other car for about 1 day before ic rashed my car. I have heard rumors that these amps power only half of what they say they are. I bought a new box that has 2 p. miller 12 in subs..i think they are 500 w each. Anyhoo..hooked them up and they bumped pretty good but Im still not convinced that these amps are any good, anyone familiar with these? it says 400 watts x 4 . The amp was connected to a mosfet pionear head unit. It bumped ok i guess.

Never heard of it. I can guarantee that rating's not accurate. There aren't many amps that'll seriously put out 1600 watts, and people talk about kilowatt amps enough on car audio boards, I'd know. The cheapest you'd pay for a kilowatt amp would probably be the lower level Lanzar calss D amp, and I believe that's about $250 new on eBay.

ok alot of times what you will find in car audio is that most amp makers put the max watts on the amp. as said before its herd to find a amp that dose what u described. the only co that i know of that puts acual wats on ther amps is alpine.
