Hey guys. I bought a '95 MX-3 with the 1.6 4-cylinder engine. It's an auto (I know, it's not a good tranny but it does the job for now). The fuel consumption seems awfully high for such a tiny engine. I'm getting about 14-15 l/100 km in town and 10 L. hwy. Is this normal? I replaced the spark plugs ...

DAMN! You guys are making me really worried about this car. I think I'm not going to buy it afterall. I will still give it a good test-drive. Is there anything in particular that I'm supposed to look for in the tranny for signs of it being on its last leg?

Well...from your experience...when did your auto tranny die on you? How many kms. do you think the auto tranny lasts?

yea i got my mx-3 like alomost 10months ago now and i got the v6 and its auto :evil: and about 1000kms after that my transmission was fried and i had to fork over 2200$!!!! well soon its out with that pos auto and in with manual :D !!!!!!!

Are you serious about the auto tranny being garbage? Can anyone confirm this? I do know the manual is more fun and I would prefer a manual, but the only thing I'm worried about is the high milage. Can a 200k MX-3 still be a decent car?

I want to buy a Precidia. I have two choices, both four cylinder models:

1: 1995,Auto Tranny at 126000 km.

2. 1993,manual tranny at 200 000 km.

The 1995 one costs $3000, while the '93 costs $2400.
I would prefer a manual tranny, but the '95 car does ...
