Re: New here, got some questions... (pictures)
Since your going to pull the motor now anyway.. before you buy another engine.. why not take the engine out.. put it on a stand.. take off the oil pan and inspect the crank & rod bearings on that cylinder. If the bearing clearance is still good.. and the rings dont look trashed.. the bottom end ...

Re: Bolverk - 1992 MX-3 GS
Amazing look man.. Love that color. I also see that your rubber headlight seals dont come down from the hood onto the top of your projectors like they do on stock headlights.. mine do the exact same thing.. its not a big deal but since I can see the side seal.. seeing the top seal in alignment with ...

Re: Clutch switch bypass switch
The ECU has no way to distinguish the difference between a ground switched from the clutch or one from the neutral Ok.. the ECU has no way.. but what about the CCM? I havent looked to see where or how the neutral safety switch is wired in.. does it connect only to the ECU and not the CCM? I could s...

Re: Clutch switch bypass switch
I didn't know cause in my Mx-3, I could switch gears while in cruise....it's just been too long that I can't remember if I tried it pre-KLZE, but I think I did and it worked. Its possible that the two switches work in tandem in a logic circuit within the CCM. This is speculation on my part.. but a ...

Re: Problem starting and idleing
How many miles are on your engine/car? Synthetic oil is very good when your engine is fresh or has been very well maintained. But at higher mileages.. it tends to get past rings and seals far easier than conventional oil. Burning 2 quarts in 1000 miles does seem excessive though and you should be ab...

Re: Clutch switch bypass switch
I am not gonna get involved in the wiring of the switch here.. but I can tell you what and how that upper switch on the clutch pedal operates. Its a closed switch from ground to the Cruise Control Module. When you depress the clutch pedal.. that switch opens and signals the cruise control module to ...

Re: Mx3 Heat Problem? Thermostat
Sounds like you may have a bubble in the system then if it was real low and you refilled it. However.. that begs the next question.. why was the coolant low? There are a couple of possibilities to that. One.. the water pump has a purge hole on it.. when the bearing in the waterpump starts to go bad....

Re: Mx3 Heat Problem? Thermostat
Check your coolant level.. if your low on coolant you may have an air bubble getting into your heater core. This would drop the temp in the heater core and cause the heater to blow cold air. Thats the simple check. If your full up on coolant.. your water pump may not be doing its job at full efficie...

Re: Plug wires on Ebay, does it matter which one?
There are a LOT of different choices here.. most are ok.. some are bad. Trust me on this one.. Dont buy any plug wire from e-bay that claims to have "Iridium" in it. They suck. I ran those for almost a year (hey they were a 10mm supposedly high performance wire for $75) Before discovering ...

Re: Car still hesitates and randomly dies when at idle
I'll just be sitting there. And the Rpm's go slightly over a 1000, then drops to 0(sometimes dying). Does that few times. Then it idles fine. I'll press the gas, aiming at 1500rpm I can fill it putting out, needle is stilling going barely up and down. Can feel it sometimes when driving. I had this e...

Re: WTB gauge cluster
Just to clear things up a bit.. ALL Gauge Clusters from MX-3's have tachs. The main difference in some of the gauge clusters is the speedo cable. The 92-93 RS Model used a cable but all other models are all electronic. 92-96 GS models and 94-96 RS models. There might be some slight difference in cal...

Re: overheating
I just looked at the writeup I did on the TB clean and reset.. looks like car domain dumped all of my pics. I will have to set them back up. I will need Moderator help to do so though since its in the FAQ section. I still have all the pics.. I just have to reset the links.

Re: overheating
Thats probably a vacuum leak.. when your pressing on the brake its activating the brake booster which uses vacuum from the engine to power the brakes (in essence anyway) if you have a vacuum leak.. the engine has to work harder to maintain the same vacuum level so the idle jumps. (This is a very bas...
