I run a kevlar ACT, non button clutch. Flywheel is unorthodox racing aluminum with the kevalr inserts. It grips like a crocodile.

Re: K&N air fliter

I had all my mild modifications done at the same time, so I don't know what if any contribution K&N had to the overall effect. I think headers and lightweight flywheel had the most to do with it.

Re: Silver spark plugs?

I haver really liked the Denso Irridium plugs in my K8. I get about 27 mpg with mixed driving and can almost get 33 mpg on a tank with full highway use. I drive like grandpa on the highway, 65mph.

I am running an act organic clutch and an unorothodox racing kevlar/aluminum flywheel. Have about 9k miles on it and it is already making chirping noises unless I almost stall it in normal driving from stop in first gear. No problem with slippage or any noise when I get on it.

Strange hearing your post. First gear is fine in my car, however, second seems a few cogs too steep. Rest of the tranny is spaced fine over the range of the engine. I hate second gear in my car. Then again, third gear is were the interesting things always seem to happen. 1.8 liter, 1993 gs.

I bought the second generation ssauto chrome headers with the flex pipe. Stainless. They are great, but set up for an mx-6, so get ready to cut some pipe and rework the egr bung tube. Think it had a negative effect on my low range power. However, the difference really comes into focus at approx. 4.1...
