Difference between MX3 and MX3 GS

I have a '92 1.6 4-cylinder, and need some parts. Someone else has a '92 GS, which I think is a 1.8.

The parts I'm trying to buy are the drivers side window switch, passengers side seat belt (motor and railing), and distributor.

Any idea if these things are going to fit my car?

Re: FS: Fuel Pump for 92 MX-3

Where were you when I was getting ripped at Autozone? LOL

Doesn't matter, I'm open to offers either way. It'll either sell, or sit on a shelf until the fuel pump actually does go bad. It does come with a 3-year warranty, though, so maybe that's a plus?

Knock Sensor??

I admit, I had never even heard of a "knock sensor" until recently, so forgive my ignorance. My car recently went into a coma. I had posted on here before: I'm driving along for a few minutes, then the RPMs just dropped for no apparent reason. After the car stopped, it went dead, and hasn'...

FS: Fuel Pump for 92 MX-3

Literally brand-spanking-new. I thought my fuel pump went out, but it turned out to be the distributor. I bought this one at Autozone, installed it, tried to crank, realized it wasn't the fuel pump, then took it out. Unfortunately, the guy at Autozone didn't tell me that once it's been installed, th...

Re: NEED A DISTRIBUTOR

Jimishadow, I just emailed you through the forum. I need a distributor for a 92 MX-3, too, but mine's not an RS. Does that matter with the distributor?

Re: Not the fuel pump, other ideas?

Just to make sure, it's the entire distributor I have to replace, and not just the rotor? Reason I ask, the price difference is $20 to $250.

Re: Not the fuel pump, other ideas?

I just checked the diagnostic, and the signal that came back was 7 2 3 1. I found what the codes mean at www.troublecodes.net/mazda 7 - knock sensor 2 - distributor 3 - distributor 1 - ignition pulse I have no idea what a knock sensor is, and I don't know if it's important. The #2 and #3 actually sa...

Re: Rough Idle

U, mine was the exact same way for 2 years. Rough at idle, clear as a bell at 2000. If you read another topic on here, "not the fuel pump, other ideas?", you'll hear about how my '92 just shut down a few days ago and won't come back. I didn't think about it until you posted this, but now I...

Re: Not the fuel pump, other ideas?

Thanks, papa roached. I've never used the diagnostic before, and couldn't find what you're talking about in the 4-cyl FAQs; can you be more specific as to where it is located? Did I understand you that I just ground the #10, then turn the key to ACC? Do I need a diagnostic tool to do this, or did I ...

Not the fuel pump, other ideas?

I appreciate the advice on taking out the fuel pump. That was definitely easy! BUT... turns out that's not the problem. I put a new pump and strainer in, but it didn't change anything. Lemme tell you what's going on. I drove the car all weekend, everything was fine. Monday morning, 2 minutes after l...

Replacing fuel pump, need advice

I've a '92, and today the fuel pump went out. I've replaced everything else on this car myself, and I'd like to replace this, too, but I keep hearing that it's a real pain. Just how big of a pain are we talking about? It's just a matter of dropping the fuel tank, then pulling out the pump, right? Is...

WTB or Trade: Drivers side window switch, Drift front bu

I have a '92, and am in the market for two things: (1) the switches that go into the drivers side door that control both the drivers and passengers side windows. I don't need the housing, just the switches. (2) I would like to have the front bumper of the Drift kit. I have quite a bit of stereo equi...

I'm interested, too. Local shops are worthless, so I'm going to end up buying this kit at some point, anyway. Like Tim said, what's the deadline?

Re: DRIFT KIT INSTALLED!!!

Dude, that drift kit is definitely sweet!

I'm right next door to you, in N. Wilkesboro. Do you mind telling me where your kit came from? I've had a hard time finding one online, and none of the dealers that I've asked can order it for me.
