excuse me, my mistake on the advancing/retard timing thing. you are correct. advancing timing is sparking earlier. i sometimes mix up the less is more, more is less. im at work so my brain is jumbled up with numbers but hey, the more times someone mentions something i do or say incorrectly, the more...

Spark duration is one of the keys to high performance ignition. I should think that with a sufficiently strong spark, that the duration of the spark is of negligible difference this would be more of a cdi vs inductive ignition topic as many tests have shown that there is minimal difference in power...

Re: Cool new forum ;)

I just wanted to be the first to post in this forum LOL Cheers ;) Tunes67 i dont yet either but engine tuning is my dream job and i have finished my training and certification for high performance engine tuning and have experien...

ignition timing control does not control the duration of the spark. fuel control controls the duration of the injector. ignition timing control is for controlling when during the compression/combustion cycle the spark plug fires. this dictates how much torque is applied to the piston down the rod to...

once again, timing does NOT affect afr's its not magic its math. to keep this simple, we'll keep the same units of measurements example 1: 1.6L engine displaces 1.6L of air. lets say our targed afr is 13:1 so to get a target afr we need .0123L of fuel for every 1.6L of air. so like i said, IF your v...

i spoke with my instructor and he told me that if an engine is built wrong it will likely blow up before it is broken in. if it is a tuning error, it will blow up on the dyno or shortly after. if it blows up after break in period and a while after tuning, it is more than likely the inherent weakness...

well, i just realized our input doesnt really matter cuz jarid is not the one doing the tuning. corksport is doing the tuning. im going to ask my instructor if they are certified tuners or guess/trial and error tuners. imo, unless properly certified for high performance tuning i would not let anyone...

Now that the engine has been out of production for 4 years, the last of cars with this engine will be coming of the road in the next year or so. The cars with the best engines with be picked over first buy the grey market used cars dealer overseas. Then there are the companies that will buy these u...
