The only reason I know of to not mold the bumper is because at high speeds the bumper will flex. If its molded on you may develop cracks where you molded.

What other problems does it cause and why would it kill the value of the vehicle? I think it looks good and smooth...

The lockwasher didn't fit with the bolt that holds the pulley on. Is the bolt inside the alternator the one you replaced? I thought you were talking about the tensioner bolt, because you deffinetly need a longer one of those.
