Re: wanted- cps

I have a CPS i just pulled off a 97 Kia Sophia GS, Bp motor, i'm not sure if its the one you need or not, i can measure it out tomorrow if you want. I know if you go buy one new it'll run you between 40-60 bucks on the cheap side. if you want it, PM me or something. Joe

Re: Does anyone see a problem with this?

Well in building the engine today, i used a micrometer to measure the cams, and acutally the ones on the kia motor where slightly larger, i think that's mainly since I'm comparing a motor that only has 50K miles, to one that has about 140K miles. So i just stayed with the cams that are in it, and th...

Does anyone see a problem with this?

Hey everybody, i've started my third BP swap today, i think I'm getting pretty damn fast at this, i pulled my car in, and 2 1/2 hours later, i had the engine and tranny on the floor, and pushed to car out of the shop. Now about my question, i've read on here that the 97 Kia Sophia GS engine is a bp,...

Re: List of BP swap gotchas

In swaping my EGT BP motor in, I used my protege LX fuel rail and have had no problems there. It was pretty simple to do, took me about 15min at most, and works great.

Re: where's the radiator fan relay?

I had the same problem when i swapped in my first bp, and it ended up being the little temp sensor that goes in right by your thermostat housing. What happened it kind of internaly broke, and if i wiggled it the fan would come on but the second i move it just right i would go back off. if thats it, ...

Re: BP ecu

So is the BP out of the escorts better, being a ZE? The second BP i put into my mx-3 is out of an escort, but i'm going to pull it out anyway, for a lower mileage engine. It runs good, and has a new lowerend, but it averages around 115psi per piston. Hey John Long if you need an ecu i now have a BP1...

Re: bp starter

i used my mx-3 starter when i did my first swap, and i had no problems, but i did only have the motor in there for about a month and a half, so i'm not sure about problems developing further on down the road.

Hey guys, i know this is an odd request, but my brother just bought a Dodge Stealth R/T (Twin Turbo AWD) and the motor is trashed. He won't take my word for it, and i know all you guys know alot about small engine mechanics, he has a naturally aspritated 24v DOHC 3.0L, and wants to transplant it in ...

95+ bp work in 92 mx-3?

Hey, I put another bp motor in my 92 mx-3 about 3 months ago, and about a month and a half later some old lady totaled my car out, and i'm just now getting it all back together, and i couldn't start for the month it sat there, b/c the frame had been pushed against the crankshaft pulley. But anyway, ...

Re: UNABLE TO START

It sounds like a fuel pump problem, or fuel filter, because it sounds like its getting fuel but not enough to keep it going. If you turn the key on and off a couple of times and it starts, its for sure your fuel pump. when you first turn your key on your fuel pump will build up pressure, and if its ...

Re: startup problems

yeah it sounds like your starter and flywheel aren't meshing together right, and if it's been doing it for a while, there is a really good chance its chewed up the flywheel as well. To replace the fly wheel you have to have the engine out, but the starter is much more simpler, its just a matter of u...
