Yeah i do a monthly compression check on my engine just to make sure my engines health stays good. I have a 30K mile BP in my mx-3 i consistantly have 155psi per cyl. I've heard that the SOHC B6's should have around 180psi at it's best. Not 100% positive though.

I have also have an Isuzu Impulse that i looked into coverting to AWD, since the Impulse was offered as a Turbo AWD, i figured it would be pretty simple, but like said before the floor pans are different, like the whole center section of the floor pan has to be cut out and redone to allow room for t...

one difference that i have noticed in the two motors is that the EGT motor i had the head is a BP05, and the ProLX motor the head only had BP stamped on it, don't know if that makes a difference, but i thought i remember reading the BP05 is better, not sure though.

ask the seller if its from a LX or DX, if it's the LX-DOHC(BP10) that's the one you need, if its from the DX-SOHC(BP01) then no thats not the one you need.

Timing Advance Disconnect?

Hey everybody, i feel pretty stupid asking this, but where is the timing advance disconnect? I wasn't sure if it was in the harness somewhere, or the diagnostic port. If someone could tell me that would be great.

Thanks-Joe

The new mx-3 passanger side cv is sold, but i still have the new driverside mx-3 cv(4cyl,man), and i have two good used sets of cv shafts one from a protege LX and another from an Escort GT(both manual), both sets are good, no tears in the boots and are smooth, I'd take $30 a piece on those, shipped...

Yeah i put a 97 model bp motor in my MX-3, i actually got mine out of a Kia Sophia, but it's the same as the protege's, and i just swapped all my pullys from the 91 EGT motor i had, and the crank pully as well, since that motor ran off of a CPS and a coilless dist. Mine is an aspec engine, but it on...

Hey still have the cv's for sell, i might have the passanger side sold, but haven't heard back from him. I'm at the point to where just make me an offer, for the new or used cv axles that i've got. I have to get enough cash together to paint my MX-3, that's all i have left to complete it. Thanks-Joe

Re: F/S brand new mx-3 cv axles

Yeah its practically brand new, still all shiny just like it came out of the box. I'd take $40 for it shipped. Let me know if you want it.

I also have a good used set of Protege LX cv axles, and a good used set of Protege DX/mx-3 axle shafts that i would take $25 a piece on them.

Re: 4-cyl Interference engine?

No that motor is a non-interference engine, you can throw a timing belt and not bend a vavle. I've done it before, you just loose all compression until you replace the timing belt.
