Re: belts wont stop sqeaking! - tried everything! - help!

Tightening your belts are only a temporary fix. I was a mechanic for 8 years and every time we got an MX in for the first belt change, the came back every week for squealing. tightening the belt too much will damage the bearings after a while. They should not be tightened that much as you see, they ...

Re: Cylinder head modifcations

I hate to rehash on old thread, but.........
Freq2002,
Would it be ok to get the head fly-cut and not use a thin head gasket? Could I get away with that and not use a knock sensor?

Re: Cylinder head modifcations

Thank you very much for the info. I is really going to help out. One more thing, do you think installing titanium valves would help? Let me know your thoughts.
Is it feasible to install a turbo on this motor or not.
Thanks a lot!!

Just remember what you are trying to protect. Most of the time, you get what you pay for.
I've never heard of the brand.

Cylinder head modifcations

Does anyone know what modifications can be done to the cylinder heads on a 94 mx-3 DOHC 4 cylinder 1.6? I mean besides port matching and polishing. I know most American cars get upgraded valves and larger valves. I would like to do some power upgrades starting with basic engine mods. I know American...

Digital clock on dash

Hey, does anyone know if there is any way to change the color of the digital clock on the dash?
I kind of clashes with the color scheme I have planned for the dash.

Re: HVAC Indiglo panel look

No, it wont work... The only sliders on it are for the fan control and the heater control. The vent select are all push buttons.. And, it's opposite.. The vent select buttons are on the top. Temp and fan controls on the bottom. The only 2 sliders. I don't know. I guess I'll have to wait until I get ...

4 cyl to 6 cyl ?

Hi All. Got a question... I have a 94 with a 1.6 4 cyl. I have been considering a swap. What would I need to swap in a 6 cyl. Possible a 2.5? if possible. Is it even possible? I also was considering turboing my current motor. Is that possible also. I understand that the turbo and manifold from a 323...

4 cyl 1.6 DOHC Motor upgrades

Cams, head work, valves, etc. I would like some input from people who have done any of these upgrades. Also, what else an I do to this motor for a little more...
