Body work

Got a question for the body and paint guys. My car is old (94RS that I rescued from my girlfriend who neglected it) and has some body damage and some spots are starting to collect a little rust. I would also like to replace all the rubber seals on the body because they are warping and coming out of ...

I used to have the same problem. I went through belts like one a week and I also took it to several shops and no one could figure it out. I was told the pulley needs replacing, the pulleys were out of alignment all sorts of things. I accidently fixed it myself. I decided to upgrade my ground points ...

Try upgrading your ground points. You can pick up a grounding kit on ebay for like 20 bucks with shipping. I only added 1 ground wire directly to one of the alternator mounting bolts straight to the ground terminal on the battery. Before that my belt would squeal like crazy and break like every 3rd ...

[WTB] Looking for a hatch garnish

I am looking for a replacement for the hatch garnish on my beloved 94 RS. A good friend of mine, bless his heart, just happened to use the garnish to lift the hatch. This loosened it. On my way home, I lost it.
NEED HELP, PLEASE!!!

Thanks

Has it come loose a alot? I had that problem for a while and even broke several belts, 2 in one week one time. The problem was with the alternator working too hard to keep power up. I upgraded the ground system and the problem went away. I was going through belts almost once a week before that. Now ...

I ran the cable from the negative battery post to one of the bolts securing the alternator to it's mounting bracket. I soldered the cable ends to the cable itself, nothing to the body of the alternator. I have not had a problem with the belt since then. No retightening or anything. Sorry about hte l...

There is also a service bulletin on that very issue. Take a look here http://www.mx-3.com/tsb/s004-94.gif
It explains how the window track wrinkles and pinches the window when rolling up.
It says it's only applicable to 92 and 93 models, but it is also happening on my 94.
Take a look at it.

Another thing you can try is running 4 gauge wire throught the hole in the center of the hatch seal. It makes it a bit harder to close the htch, but it help a ton with the rattling. Give it a shot it may be a bit easier than converting the hatch closer. Those were installed on a bunch of GM cars. Th...

if the speakers are not free air, the sound waves from the back of the speakers will cancel out the waves from the front of the speaker. That is why they work in the front, the door seperates the back from the front and they do not cancel out each other. Simple physics. Put them in a box or seal the...

You have never heard of Clifford? They are owned by the same company as Viper and the al;arms are identical except for the color. They are owned by Directed Electronics. I had a Clifford until I fried it with liquid. It was a Matrix 3.5RS AWESOME alarm, had a lifetime warranty on it too. I exchanged...

Another thing you can try is beefing up the grounding system. This can help because if the grounds are bad, the alt has to work a lot harder to get the electrical system up and running properly. I had the same problem for a long time. I was going throught belts once a month. The last time I changed ...
