Re: Turbo plumbing, what to do, what to buy?

I'd say you would end up with an air leak from HE//. Go buy (4) 2.25" mandrel J-bends from www.jegs.com . Thats how many it took me for my front mount IC set up. Then just get some silcone couplinks and hose clamps to put sections of piping together. Weld them to gether and use the couplinks on...

Re: swap update

Whats up Shady. The firing order on the B6T is 1,2,4,3. Basicaly you turn your MX-3 SOHC distributor up side down then you wire cyl#1 to the top terminal, cyl#2 to the right hand terminal, cyl#4 to the bottom terminal, & cyl#3 to the left hand terminal. Thats the crazy thing you gotta do to make...

Re: Pro Lx ECU Serial #?

Look at your wiring harness on your stock ECU... if it has 3 connectors, Derrick @ Corksport has them in stock. If it is a 2 wire (2 connectors) like mine then they have to order them. Personally I'm gonna go to the 90-94 323 GTX (BPT's) entire engine management system. It electronically controlls y...

Get ready to change mine to atleast a low 9sec. pass on the stock turbo at 12psi! I'll make it official as soon as the local tracks open any time in the next few weeks!

Re: Just got back from the dyno!!

I've been working at planning my 600WHP B6T powered MX-3 with Derrick @ Corksport for a little over a year now. I started at planning for 400WHP, then as we keep looking & planning the possibilities just keep growing larger! I'm looking a starting with a 400HP custom T3 Hybrid. At . 12PSI on a S...

Re: Intercooler sizes

I'm running the APEXi Silvia Intercooler & end tanks. The core measures in at 19.7"L x 9.33"H x 2.7"W. It has a unique feature called "Delta Fins" which has a larger surface area than a standard tube&fine or bar&plate design. The Delta Fins also act as a velocity...

Re: injectors????

I'm currently running High Impedance 440cc RC Engineering Injectors from a Miata. You could go to the the junkyard and a get a set of stock Mitsubishi Eclipse injectors which are 440cc (off the 4G63 Turbo I believe), better check resistance before use. Personaly I went with the RC Engineering inject...

Re: opinions on best clutch kit for ...

I wouldn't recommend the Centerforce Dual friction...I had a bad experiance with it. I had it on the my modified N/A SOHC & it sliped a little every once and a while. This was before I started doing all my own work. It was "profesionaly" installed, these guys worked on Jags, Porsche, e...

Re: Sticky tires

Thats why I'm using FRONT WHEEL DRIVE DRAG RACING RIMS , which are designed for putting meaty tires in places they weren't meant to be! The rims are 15x8's with 5.5" inch back spacing to push the rim out so it is manuverable enought at the drag strip to get where it needs to be. If I was just d...

Re: Engine noise (maybe spark plugs but not sure)

It could be many things! -Check your oil, ticking is usely your valve lifters. -oil should be changed every 3,000 miles -your oil filter I'd recommend every other oil change. -make sure your oil isn't low!!!! -If your hearing a metallic ping or something that sounds like loose change than it is deto...

Re: maf question

sure if you send it to Corksport www.corksport.com however it's around $650 to reprogram it. I'd suggest the Pro LX ECU unless you go crazy with things like cams, forced induction, lots of NOS, huge injectors, custom intake manifold, etc...

Re: Head Gasket?

To help you find out if the head gasket is leaking, or the valves, or even the piston rings then you need to check it with a leak down tester from www.summitracing.com There are also dye kits you can use to locate coolant leaks, etc ... ;)

Re: Just got back from the dyno!!

I believe the dyno numbers if your running an upgraded turbo or higher compression. What did you get the RHB5 turbo off of? I'm going to the dyno soon. My car is pushing around 200-220WHP on the IHI VJ-14, my VJ-13 snaped the turbine shaft in half in two differnt spots! If I had better traction the ...

Re: turbo upgrades

Spending a grand ait worth it in your case. Just go to www.summitracing.com & get one of their oil cooler kits. I'm still running factory components on my car.
