I have a set of good chrome handles, see Appearance forum, "Installing chrome Miata handles". These are ready to swap right in they don't have the extra piece that has to be removed, and they have the same plastic rod clips the MX-3 uses. Easy to do, I just swapped mine around in the parki...

So I went and looked at the RS and now I don't think this is what you want. they used the stock plastic intake pipe, and just have a metal adapter after the airflow meter. here's a pic of what I have. If you want the adapter plate you can just have it.

Have you gotten this yet, if not I have one. $10 plus shipping, I'll even shine it up nice for you.

Dont know if you got this yet, but I have one for you I think the physical condition is good. It was originally white, but now badly painted in dark blue, So to have it look nice will take some sanding and repainting. I'd want $50 for it.

In spirit I agree with you, kind of a "use the right tool for the job" kind of thing. But as I said here in the US that's getting to be a hard philosophy to live be when working with the MX-3.
