Re: Auto to 5 speed Manual swap with KLZE
Yeah the FAQs are the best place to start. Then if you have a problem you can't find the answer to, search all the forums. If still no answer then post the question. I can tell you that since your replacing both the engine and trans at the same time this will be fairly simple since you can get every...

Re: Auto to 5 speed Manual swap with KLZE
Because this was the result of the trans swap I figured the answer could be found here. Somehow I missed the obvious. For those who find this thread in the future the answer is in the Electrical and Lighting forum here: http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=67202" onclick="wi...

Re: Auto to 5 speed Manual swap with KLZE
Finding and replacing a whole wiring harness just to make these two things work seems like a lot of headache with too little payoff. Two days ago I finally got everything necessary together and started her up. The downpipe wasn't connected to the headers due to fitment issues. (cheap ebay headers.) ...

Re: Auto to 5 speed Manual swap with KLZE
Actually I have looked through the manuals. And couldn't find anything on the plug I'm looking for. Tried figuring it out from the electrical schematics but I'm not good at reading those and the schematic printouts seem barely legible to begin with. So really hoping someone has dealt with this and c...

Auto to 5 speed Manual swap with KLZE
So I'm swapping a KLZE and 5 speed into an SE that had an automatic trans. My problem is the same as a few people here have had and after searching the forums I haven't seen an answer. The harness plug for the Auto trans is yellow with 12 pins. I know you can jump wires on the Neutral safety switch ...

Re: Engine mount issue!!!
I just got through this issue myself, after putting the engine in the bay, hooking up the power steering pump and AC compressor and adjusting the belts, Then I decide to tighten that mount down. Damn did that suck. Onlytrueromeo, if you look at the images in the second post. You'll see that some ZEs...

Re: Will an RX8 steering wheel fit? And buying questions!
I've been thinking this too, but I was looking at Mazda 3 steering wheels. Most on ebay are with out the air bags, which cost a lot to replace. But I figured I could make a fiberglass piece to fit where the air bag was. I would love to know if the wheel splines would match.

Re: Half Leather Seats?...
My American SE had an automatic. Its in the process of becoming a manual KLZE. By the way, were the seats supposed to be REAL leather. Mine are fake. But it is a real SE unless regular GSes ever came in rasperry metallic.

Re: KLZE WATER LINE! HELP PLEASE!!!
Yeah, I swapped the pipe with the thermostat cover with the one from the K8 since that small water line is welded to it. Then just plugged the hose. My engine like yours is swinging from an engine hoist, so I havent started it to see if theres any problems, but it seems like it should work.

Finally getting a KLZE, any ebay sellers to avoid?
So I got my stimulous check and decided it's time for a KLZE. Has anyone had a bad experience, or heard of someone who has, with the JDM motor sellers on EBAY? I know what I need, but worry about less than trustworthy sellers. The ebay feedback is mostly based on other common honda and nissan engine...

Re: replacing waterpump
Yep, radiator cap was off both the filler cap and cap on the dryer thing attached to the left side of the radiator, and the overflow reservoir. It seemed to drain real well so I was surprised to have that much coolant dump out, soaked my arm real good too since I was under the car on a creeper at th...

Re: replacing waterpump
Just did this, and as has been said, it's a good idea to replace your timing belt. However it can be done without removing the belt, after removing all the other belts and pullys and timing belt cover, its not really as bad as people make it out to be. You will have to remove the right front wheel a...

Basically just need to make sure one of the two primers is also a sealer. Though it certainly wouldn't hurt if both are waterproof. I mean when you think about it, the car started off with a layer of OE primer, a base coat of paint and then a clear coat, and that rusted through. So I say the more la...

Without pics of the rust and such its hard to say for sure, but you probably have the right idea. When you get your etch primer, be carefull alot of primers are not waterproof. Look for one that says its an etch primer and a sealer. Another option is go over the spots after sanding or grinding away ...
