I used waterproof tape and it worked better than the plumber's tape. I looking for something a little more permanent. This will have to do until then.

I have the struts in excellent condition. The back ones have less than 500 miles on them (I changed them out after a couple of weeks). The fronts have a couple 1,000 miles on them. My hatch rattles like none other. I already tried adjusting the latch (on the body of the trunk), but it doesn't solve it for very long.
