I would suggest getting a hub as well its $23 bucks on rock auto and will save them a hell of a lot of time because every bearing that I have done, the center collar of the wheel bearing stays attached to the hub and is a PITA to get off!! The part number for it is #930-550 its a Dorman part number...

Yep on the ground. You can raise it up if you want. If you have not changed one of these before they are not fun at all without a press... I was planning on taking the entire knuckle off and taking it to a local shop to press out/in. My last car I had to use a slide hammer to pull out the hub assem...

While the car is on the ground, grab the top of the wheel with your hands, using a push/pull on the top of the wheel it should wiggle back and forth and or clunk. I don't think the wheel nearing should have that much play, but then again the amount of play that's a lot mor me mifht be a little for you or vice versa. It could be the differential, does the sound change at all with the RPM? Also, timing belt on those things is really easy. If you go to mx3.com ...
