Re: Carbon Fiber products part 2
Headliner = interesting?? Sunroof or no sunroof? Anyone know how it attatches to the roof? I've been driving my Mx for 17yrs and never once taken it down.. BTW guys, I'm making parts that are the most demanding first. It takes time to prepare plugs, build moulds, and then final parts. I have started...

Re: Carbon Fiber products part 2
Anything JDM, I don't have. So unless someone is willing to give up their JDM parts for a loaner or just sell them to me, I can't reproduce any of those parts. I have a sunroof I can make. I have a cowl, a hatch garnish, I have access to a hatch shade, etc...just one thing at a time. gauge bezel nee...

Re: Carbon Fiber products part 2
Looks like the rad support is the most popular piece to start with. I'm on it guys. Your biggest weight savings will come from things you can do that do not involve CF. Reduce the wheels to lightweight 15's or 16's. :) Big stereo's in your trunk, AKA junk in your trunk. As far as body panels go, the...

Carbon Fiber products part 2
For the past couple of months, I have been looking at producing some carbon or fiberglass products for the Mx-3. I have always wanted to create my own parts out of carbon rather than look to some of the other products that are all ready out there, which is'nt that much. This will be the section for ...

Re: Stronger Tranmission
Sounds like you need a rebuild anyway. If you decide to tear your trans down, look at the gears, especially 3rd. You'll probably find the teeth worn off and you may not have an issue with syncros. If you don't haved the tools to do it, take it to someone you specializes in manual trans rebuilds and ...

Re: Stronger Tranmission
who is jaydog and why is he back? the ford ZX2 97+ has supposedly better cut gears and syncros from what I've heard. Are you kidding Chris? FYI, I was formerly jaydog5678, but for whatever reason, I can't log in to that account. Not to mention, we have met before in GA at Pat's old house..I'm assum...

Re: Stronger Tranmission
If you dont have the cash to fork out for a sequential gearbox, then forget about all options for an oem gearbox to get it to hold together. Just my 2 cents. I have been able to keep my Kia Sephia slushbox together with 300hp and torque somewhere in the 230-250 range. It just depends how you abuse i...

Re: Underbody aero
K, I can understand the concept of the cooling effects. The pics were pretty clear to me. The next challenge is actually making it work on an Mx-3. Vents. louvers, and naca ducts can be employed where they are needed. BTW, the first pic isnt an RSX. This car has a diff front suspension and I can see...

Re: Underbody aero
Front and RWD do matter. it is about aerodynamics and the weight of the vehicle. Also an under tray on a FWD is more critical to airflow than a RWD platform. As air needs to be vented through the tray for proper cooling, It does on a RWD as well but the vent placement is not as critical. the rear d...

Re: Underbody aero
Nice work on the rear diffuser. It really doesnt matter if you have a frt or rear wheel drive car as far as the front lower cover. The newer BMW's have an almost complete, flat undertray with the exception of a cutout for the exhaust. Looking at the BMW's undertray, the only holes cutout are for the...

Re: Carbon Fiber Products
Well if I need to start a new thread or gauge this torwards a gb, I will. I am building a mould for the front door panels so I can lay them in fiberglass or carbon. I'm getting rid of the lower pocket and leaving the speaker hole out. Also the gap where the cloth meets the vinyl will get smoothed ou...

Re: Underbody aero
The splitter and ride height will need to be dialed in. The most important part of the undertray is that it must be raked as well as smooth. The front must be lower than the rear. To what degree and angle of the rear diffuser will need some testing..I'm working on the undertray development. It will ...

Re: 5th gear trouble after BP & G series mtx swap
Make sure you have enough gearoil in the trans. When the fluid is lower than normal, 5th gear is the most affected. If the fluid is ok, then there could be issues with the shift fork or other related components inside the housing.
