Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
Well, it seems that the build of the B6/BP swap has been postponed. For good reason though. The B6/BP build has taken a seat to the newly purchased MX-3. It's in much cleaner condition (needs a good wax job though) along with some other tidbits here and there. We present to you an MX-3 complete with...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
Coming this Thursday I'll be doing a write up of creating a short ram intake for the MX-3 using some spare intercooler piping, a Spectre filter, and Spectre MAF adapter. Eventually, we'll get down to making a heat shield and possibly wrapping the intake in some thermal intake wrap to make sure that ...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
Within the last month, the MX has come down with a few problems: Passenger side axle boot tore, passenger side front strut blown, brakes are worn, neutral safety switch is being temperamental, CEL code 3 is now constantly on (still retains gas mileage and most of the engine's power). There is also q...

Re: Ignition Coil Wiring Diagram B6-ME
Here's a picture of the relay that I'm talking about. http://i.imgur.com/bR4oM.jpg Still haven't figured out what everything leads to, especially the orange wire, as the only orange wire that is in the system runs from the distributor to the ECU. Further down the line, the black splices to a blue wi...

Re: Volumetric Efficiency
Probably be going along those lines with 'looks about right', which is too bad. I suppose for the time being we might just hop onto eBay and pick up a knock-off intake, MAF adapter, and cone filter and do it that way. Wait until the BP swap for the good and expensive parts, where it counts of course...

Re: Volumetric Efficiency
This number changes dynamically according to (basically) RPM versus Throttle position or MAP. It also depends on a few other details. You won't find a VE table unless someone somewhere has written a tune for a B6 with your EXACT setup. Any cheap tunes are called Alpha-n, which is RPM versus TPS. Th...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
I've gotten in touch with a local fabrication shop which deals mainly in welding, pipe bending, and customization overall for pretty much anything; http://www.barkerswelding.com/ . I haven't gotten a price on anything yet, but the plan is to get specs for a true cold air intake. Yes, we're aware tha...

Re: Volumetric Efficiency
Maybe not even the VE of the engine, but I would need at least how many cubic feet of air it consumes in a minute at various RPMs. That'd be definitely helpful.

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
For IceQueen's birthday I got her a set of front speakers, Infinity Reference 6502ix. Decided to do a custom install, rather than just putting the speakers in the doors and being done. It's decently clean, but I'm going to do a little more cutting to the OE speaker grill and put a rubber surround ar...

for B6 turbo, my log: http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=69074 and Mike is a BP GOD. If you have not seen his log, it's a must read if a BP is in your future. http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=62251 and no ebay clutches. I second that. Not going name bra...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
Good/bad to hear about the part out of the MX-3. Mostly interior pieces we'll be looking for. Time to do some more research and see if the N/A and turbo BPs have the same internals, save the pistons. Lower CR will be a bit better. Wonder what the stock bottom end can hold for horsepower on boost. Th...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
Just took a look at Wikipedia while at work, seems that's the one that we may get instead of the B6-D. Now, just gotta find a donor engine that we can rip out and purchase on the cheap. Though this may have been asked plenty of times, which I'm sure it has since you guys seem to have done absolutely...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
Sounds good, we'll keep that engine in mind definitely, especially considering a wiring harness nightmare. BPs outta the Miata correct? As far as interior goes, the most that we'd be replacing are just some odds and ends; rear top seat, wiper switch arm (or the whole assembly if it comes to it), han...

Ignition Coil Wiring Diagram B6-ME
Ultimately, we've got a question with the wiring of the coil and related components on the B6-ME. My scanner's not working, so bear with me. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f225/CaffeineTripp/B6-ME/IgnitionDiagramMX-3.png The biggest question that we've got is, what does the orange lead to? I can'...

Re: IceQueen and CaffeineTripp - 1993 MX-3 Base
True. There seems to be quite a bit for sale in the FS/FT. There aren't too many salvage yards up where I live, two within driving distance easily, but the third's a bit far. And I highly doubt they have any MX-3s there. Happen to know of any online OEM part distributors? Specifically interior piece...
