Re: Escort Strut Frustrations
http://cdn2.autopartsnetwork.com/images/catalog/brand/moog/640/K8995_TOP.jpg Kay, that's the upper seat. The part where the strut bearing goes in is not parallel with the strut rod, it's on a downwards angle. So trying to put in the strut bearing into the mount AND onto the strut rod just ends with...

Escort Strut Frustrations
So, here's the struts I'm trying to put together: -ZX2 mount and bearing -Escort struts -B&G MX-3 Springs The problem I'm having is that the top hat where the bearing sits is not level with the strut rod. So when I try fitting the bearing then the mount, it either sits in the top hat but not the...

Re: Where to buy new calipers?
I saw some 2005 MX-5 Sports Suspension rear calipers for $60 each on eBay a week ago, dunno if they're still up. Don't bother with Partsource/Canadian Tire or NAPA, it'll be an arm and a leg and maybe a gnad. Rockauto has the Miata rears for $100, with a $37 core included. Umm, has anyone checked ou...

Re: Where the hell is my oil?
DE swap is most likely for me, found one for $100 local, but as is I don't have the time to do an engine swap, nor would I like to invest significant money into the K8. Going to run the K8 until it dies, but would like not to replace oil all the time. Already won a set of Colt N/A cams on eBay for $...

Re: Where the hell is my oil?
I will do a compression test sometime, but there is no blue smoke from burning oil. Owners manual states 0W30 for best performance, 10W30 for normal. A 0W40 isn't going to ruin anything. These aren't F1 engines :P. It doesn't seem to be the oil. I've run a few types, different weights, and same thin...

Where the hell is my oil?
Brief overview: -247k km -Mobil1 0W40 + Mobil1 filter -Previously used Castrol Syntec 5W50 + Mobil1 filter -Changed oil approximately 2000km ago, about 3 weeks ago After two trips to and from Toronto and Barrie, I noticed HLA tick. Normally my engine does that for a second when I start the car only,...

[WTB] Complete V6 exhaust, condition irrelevant
Looking to get a complete exhaust from the headers all the way back to muffler. Will be building an exhaust, so I need a template to work from. I don't care how many leaks or repairs it has, or even if there's an entire chunk of pipe dented or rusted out. As long as it is one entire piece, I am happ...

Re: So guys bang for buck.
ZX2 struts are a great cheep alternative to buying new OE struts, but they are still Tokico's. The GR2s are the way better option. KYB GR2's are a great choice GR2's are OEM replacements, ie. stock. Tokico Blue is a stock replacement that handles better, that's basically it. Lower it, and it become...

Re: Multitude of issues when warmed up
Would like to say: FUEL Throwing in a bit of injector cleaner into the tank, and it started running perfectly. No hesitation at all. Started coming back as I refilled the tank. Replaced injectors with known good ones, zero problems. Sounds like its getting more narrowed down.... Filling up at the s...

Re: Multitude of issues when warmed up
Kay, it's NOT a vacuum leak. Using both smoke and propane (the PROPER way, not WD-40 or carb/brake cleaner). And this only occurs when fully warmed up. Dead cold, not a single problem, warming up, not a single problem. Warmed and running for 5-10 minutes, hesitation. I will be changing out the O2 se...
