Re: Dead MX-3 =(

There is a 93 4 cylinder local for about $2000. No idea of miles and cush, but can get more info if you are serious about 'staying in the family'...<P> :p

Re: Ignition Problem

Dude, <BR> go to NAPA Auto parts. Don't ask for the MX-3 distributor... get the one for the same year probe with V6 (almost $100 difference for the same part number). I had the EXACT same problem, and this fixed it. I didn't take it apart to see if the ignitor was the new or old style, cuz I was on ...

Cold air intake and VAF (???)

Mebbe I got the wrong part name, but isn't the VAF the lil inline unit that sits right behind the air box on a stock setup? The one that makes your car run like crap if you get a leak in yer hose? Where does that lil dude go when you put a cold air intake on? I can't find any pictures with it mounte...

Tapping noise...sounds like valvetrain noise...?

Hey guyz n galz, <BR> I read in an earlier post that it's a common thing for the V6 in MX-3 GS's to tick. Mine is originating from the rear valve cover. Is this really a common thing? I've racked up 147,000 miles. The earlier post said...<P>"My GS motor is a 92 with over 133k and i have no prob...

Re: my car is smoking!!!!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like bad rings or bad valve seals to me. Black/grey smoke is bad timing/unburned fuel... but white SMOKE is always burning oil. Now, if it's more like steam, you've got coolant leaking into your combustion chambers, and you'll either have a warped/cra...

Re: clutch disk?

I just replaced my clutch this past weekend. If you don't know enough about clutches to know the basic components, I wouldn't attempt a replacement on your own. Not trying to be an a--, but I've done tons of RWD clutch replacements... this was my first FWD. What a b----! I did it in a weekend withou...

Re: Idle question...

Hey man, <BR> I just replaced my clutch this past weekend. After putting everything back together, I had the same problem you do... I hunted for hours for a vacuum leak or an unplugged sensor... until I got frustrated and went inside. When I came back out, the first thing I saw was a rip in my air i...

Shifter dropped during clutch replacement... now what?

Helloooo.....<P>First I gotta say... Mazda had their heads screwed on right when they decided to build the MX-3. WHat a fun lil car! However, if I had a design engineer when I was replacing my clutch this past weekend, I would have screwed his head off his shoulders... *grin* I worked for almost two...
