Re: Vac issue?
Also, here is a video I took of the tachometer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boizEtuAeh0 When the video begins, my foot is on the brake. I take my foot off the brake and the rev goes up like 200-300RPMs then i push the brake peddle down and the idle drops. It is only happening now whenever I do th...

Re: Vac issue?
So I unplugged my IAC and drove my car, the idle didn't do anything. Even after putting it into a gear, the idle remained at 800RPM~ and the car drove a bit rough (as expected) but not terrible. After I plugged the IAC back in, the idle surging happened again. The thing that is getting me is I notic...

Re: Vac issue?
I didn't just mess with it, i screwed the butterfly screw to adjust the idle down to 700RPM but wasn't in DIAG mode (a long time ago) and I am not opposed to giving the TPS adjustment a try but can't imagine this would cause my issue seeing as the idle is fine when sitting still and not in a gear. I...

Re: Vac issue?
Yeah I'll attempt to just listen for it or look this weekend. Now I never adjusted the TPS because I never knew I had too. I simply screwed the thing on there and went, how do I adjust it?

Re: Vac issue?
Hmm, I'm gonna use Carb Cleaner to see if I can find any vac leaks (found a reference saying you spray it on certain vac hoses and parts and if the idle gets rough then you found a leak), but why would the car do this predominately when I brake? sometimes i can have it in gear and it doesn't do it, ...

Re: Vac issue?
Okay...I'm seriously looking for any help at ALL. I've been dealing with this issue for so long and it's annoying the hell out of me. So far I've replaced: 1. PCV Valve 2. (13 PSI) Radiator cap (the one that sits on the plastic housing in front of the radiator, not the radiator fill cap) 3. Reset my...

Re: Vac issue?
Nope, wasn't the PCV valve. I also noticed that all my coolant is going into my reservoir (it is COMPLETELY full) and I turned my car on and put it in gear and when it builds up pressure or whatever, it starts to drip (solid line drip though) out the overflow valve on the reservoir cap. I'm complete...

Re: Won't start
Just a suggestion, but could it be a disty cap? I had mine f--- up to where everytime my cyl 2 wire was pressed down the car wouldn't start but if you pull it out an inch and let it spark onto the spark plug from a short distance, the car ran fine. They're only like $20 so it's a cheap fix if it is ...

Re: Vac issue?
Hmmm, I'll spin by the auto place tomorrow and buy a new one tomorrow, why would that cause this though?

Vac issue?
Ok, I posted here a while ago and thought I solved this issue by cleaning the entire throttle body and replacing the TPS but this issue is back and this is what is happening: My (92 V6 MX-3 GS) keeps surging on idle. When I was sitting at a red light again, I had the car in first gear (does this no ...

Re: Fuel pump dead?
My brother threw a new one on it a few years ago ( he had to replace the thing 2-3 times for some reason) but I plan for the distributor cap/rotor to be changed once I get the money in a week or so and then go from there. I'm going to the junk yard this weekend to take a look for a mazda but doubt t...

Re: Fuel pump dead?
Yeah that was what I meant, I swapped the cylinder 2 spark plug wire with the one in cylinder 4 (so the entire wires were swapped even on the position on the disty cap.) and it still acted the same. The spark plug is brand new by the way since that was the first thing i suspected. Also, do you think...

Re: Fuel pump dead?
Ok, narrowed it down a bunch... I switched the spark plug going to cylinder 2 (the one with all the issues) with the spark plug wire on cylinder 4, and cylinder 2 still was misfiring and acting up. After taking off the distributor cap, I put an Ohm meter to the pin 'C' on the distributor and then ot...

Re: Fuel pump dead?
I'll definitely try that, what would cause it to die when the plug is pressed down inside (to where it suctions around the spark plug?) but nothing happens when the plug just rests against the back of the plug
