2% is 14-16? wow.
16 a WOT will kill your engine, I would even wan't to run that for cruising. The ZE's already run quite hot.
For WOT i'd say you definitely want to be below 14.

Re: After market fpr stock k8
Well I must ask Josh, what piggyback ecu are you using? Well a MAP ECU I would assume :) http://www.funtronica.com/catalog/images/Tuning/1.gif But anyway, eventhough i'm supposed to run leaner with this new chip, I feel i'm still running rich. I won't pass emmisions actually, 20 mpg I think on high...

Re: Idle Drop
For the brakebooster yeah, using the original hose fixed it.
For the idle drop, no still does that.

Re: Milennia motor
Don't know how much you could consider this proof but: 140 - 200 (km/h) KL47 manifold 21 sec 140 - 200 (km/h) KLG4 manifold 20 sec Only the manifold changed between runs, i'm running an mx-6 gearbox. When doing the KLG4 run, it was warmer, i installed leather seats which where heavier, there was mor...

not to the straight neck
ofcourse that's what is said.Well the 98+ 626 manifold performs better than the KL47 manifold, for me.

Re: Milennia motor
How does it perform better? What is your engine setup? Heads, cams, manifold, tb, etc. Setup: SS Manifold 10:1 ZE bottom. DE D shaped Heads KL68 TB KLG4 Manifold, knive edged the neck. Benefits I found: More power in mid and high range, less in low. +Looks better (still need to tidy things up so), ...

Re: 9.5:1 Pistons do they exist?
Well no, cause the cams, intake, ecu also matter. And a DE is 9.2:1 Compression. KLG4 is a 170hp engine and is basically a DE. But what is an an J-Spec engine like this called, its not a DE but neither a ZE. Supposed to be: 9.5:1 pistons (or 10:1 ???) Redesigned DE heads KL-01 Cams Redesigned oil pa...

Re: 9.5:1 Pistons do they exist?
Does anyone know what there suppose to look like? I've got a newer casting KL, looked in the combustion chamber. There not DE Pistons, but I dunno how to see the difference between the supposed 9.5:1 and 10:1. These are the best pics i have: http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-JEHJ46N8.jpg http://www.mijna...

Re: Milennia motor
And of course this one is big The oil pan is deeper under #6 cylinder, Mazda must've updated since it was so common to starve #6 for oil & kill the motor. Keep in mind you'll need to get a welder there to modify piping. Also keep in mind if your car is lowered the oil pan will rest very low to ...

Re: After market fpr stock k8
Well how it works is I am running off of the KL36 maps, but the MAPECU intercepts the signal from the VAF to the ecu, to learn its parameters through the voltage readings. Then it fills in its own fuel tables, based off of its readings from the MAP sensor in the MAPECU, as well as the signal receiv...

Re: After market fpr stock k8
That's pretty interesting. I've not heard of another chip maker that has decoded the timing maps etc. It would be cool to talk to him about it and see what he has done. My main goal for the project is not to profit from it (we do plan to sell the chips) but it's mostly to give a good option for KL ...

On what ECU? Looked into that as well a while ago. But it's only for KL62 and OBD II ?Josh wrote:(swapping from the VAF to a MAP).
Does look promising.
