Hey folks i got a mx3 with a 626 kl64,kl31 ecu JE50 vaf new belts the lot.i used the k8 mx3 alterntor couse it didnt come with the engine when i got it.Everything ran sweet till yestarday when i noticed smoke comeing from the alternator and the car was losen a bit of hp.The next day i went to start ...

yeah you could be right,i just changed the radiator and coolent.it wasnt haven idle probs before that.How can i fix the prob?Can driving round with air in the coolent crack a head gasket or somethen..thanx for any help

Hey pps just swapped over my k8 ecu for a KL31 ecu in my mx3 KL 2.5 long neck.everything runs great.Just a little prob,the car idles at say 600 rpm no probs.But soon as i turn the heater on or the headlights the idel goes up to 1100rpm.With the headlights on the revs drop after say 15secs back to 60...

Thanx for the tips boys.The only prob a have found since the swaped ecu's is that the rev's jump from 600 to 1100 rpm when i turn the heater on and the revs seem to jump up a 1000rpm when the lights are on.

Yeh bro from sydney everyone uses KW for power figures,people stooped using HP years ago.How did you go on the dyno!

I live in sydney and thats true even the bloke that did my conversion on my mx3 said the max hes seen on a klze was 115kw at the wheels.And his done over 25 conversions.Wouldent have a clue why guys in america are getting big numbers..

Just did the KL31 JE50 swap.The mazda goes alot harder now and smother.Il be putting the mx3 on the dyno in the weeks comeing.Il let yous no how it goes.Hope to get at least 115 kw

Whats the max hp a stock KLZE with the KL31 and JE50 vaf make at the wheels.And the max power a KLG4 with the right ecu vaf combo would make.Thanx for anyhelp you give us.

Just got in a KL31 ecu.Im gonna put it in on the weekend and run it with a JE50 il let you boys know how i go.Wish us luck

Hey folks.I just got a KL31 ecu and JE50 vaf for my 92 mazda KL 2.5.Just need to know what i need to do when swapping ecu's.Do i disconnect the battery or just make sure the keys are not in key barrel etc.One more thing how long does the KL ECU have take to set itself up.
