I think the 4cyl is 60amp but you can get an alternator from a GS and swap your smaller pulley from your alt onto the 90amp GS alternator. ok so i boosted it with another car and it started just fine, everything turned on and it was running... now my only problem is is it really just the battery? its a yr old and it was running fine without any issues before the alternator went...i probably drove the car without the alternator charging...

im surprised that the oil light didnt turn on actually, your right im not sure if the sensor is working or not? where is the oil pressure switch suppose to be connected to?

i havnt baked the motor, i was getting heat throughout the drive, so there must have been coolant running threw the engine the entire time and it still starts thats not an issue, the loss of coolant/whine sound comming from that area and now lack of coolant in the whole system is the problem, so why...

these are 2 different cars, and i didnt have it run out of coolant, i was driving and it leaked out while i was drivingRyan wrote:This guy also ran his car out of coolant, according to his other thread.

Do you realize that coolant is NOT optional? If motor isn't FUBAR... then its not such a big deal. Check the tension in your alternator belt. It deflect something like 1/2" inch under moderate pressure, like one or two fingers pressure. Start there. yes im aware of that but why would the alter...

Looks like you started a dry engine. I like to take the plugs out, oil the cylinders, roll the engine over to bring up the oil pressure, install the plugs and then start the engine.
