Re: duratec 2.0 turbo motor into my new project mx3.
Yes thats right liquid does compress, but the amount of pressure that occurs inside the engine is not enough to compress your oil and cause wear.. Your wear comes from cold starts, when there is little to no oil pressure, and the engine computer right away causes the idle to be high. The weight of t...

Re: duratec 2.0 turbo motor into my new project mx3.
as far as bearings, higher load on the bearings on a reg basis equals faster wear. i can build and tune it for 400s but keep the boost down for my daily driving so im not tearing my motor up faster. o and the duratec has bigger bearings equaling more surface area to recieve the load. this gives mor...

Re: duratec 2.0 turbo motor into my new project mx3.
well yeah 300 is the low end but i am looking for a daily driver not a track car. at least not at this point. maybe later. 300 is a pretty easy hp goal to hit that isn't going to have to have bearings replaced every 30,000 miles and should still get good fuel efficiency. i want first and foremost, ...

Re: Ball Joint Help Please.
All MX-3's manufactured from 03/93 on have the larger post. Cars manufactured up to 03/93 use the smaller post you are looking for. You need: MOvotech #MK9967 Moog #K9967 Beck Arnley #1014708 Any of those is correct for the 92', all models. The one you want does not fit any other mazda. The one you...

Re: Mechanic apprenticeship programs?
That part I am really unsure of. As a diesel mechanic you dont deal with nearly as much electronic systems as you do with cars, now granted semi-trucks are getting more and more electronics all the time, but it was still be no where near the level of cars. I would say as strictly a diesel mechanic, ...

Re: Mechanic apprenticeship programs?
I tried it for a little while and i felt it was easier then working on cars sometimes, due to the size of everything, and there seemed to be less electronics, and more mechanical. On the down side the stuff is very heavy, and for the most part I am a small guy, so I struggled with tires and heads, a...

Re: Flywheel resurfacing
As mentioned above, check your surface for flatness, if its good and the clutch never got overheated from slipping, creating any nasty hotspots or warpage, then just get some 3M nyloc pads, use a corded or cordless drill and remove the glaze from the surface, and reinstall your clutch. I use this me...
