Re: Strut bar design
That Mustang is not genius at all......... 2 major problems 1--Rod ends on every connection 2--Single bolt mount points All those rods will do little to nothing except look pretty. when the body distorts they will deflect, but old Mustangs are not exactly cornering machines anyway. Jims shop is loca...

Re: Strut bar design
Jim sent me a PM, and I am passing on the information to the MX-3.com community I'll build whatever anyone wants---it would be really cool if we could get a car here, but I can also just mock it up in the escort and take pics/maybe even send a bar to someone to test fit if needed. I like the idea ab...

Re: Strut bar design
honestly from your pics, its clear the single bar version would work fine if it was flipped around. The question is at this point is if you guys want that one or not. If you want a double bar version just to fit your cars, then we may have to take that up with Jim and see what he says. What do you g...

Re: Strut bar design
Thanks for all your hard work in measuring this stuff. Sounds like the only option at this point is top see if the single bar version flipped around will work, and if that doesnt then sorry guys I tried  The single bar version sits about 1" above the strut tower surface currently, and fr...

Re: Strut bar design
Well after getting some measurements from a 323 with a KLG4 and comparing them to some other measurements, it wont fit any KL manifold with spacers in a KL swapped BG. So thats looking like it will barely fit an MX3 GS. With the Milli manifold, your only option may be the single bar version flipped....

Re: Strut bar design
Just from comparing pictures on the milli manifold, it looks like MX3 users will either have to settle for the single bar version or maybe Jim would have to do the double bar version with the rear bar straight across in stead of bending in. MX3 M/C are shorter then BG ones, so it may work. I am just...

Re: Strut bar design
get me some measurements^^^ I need to know how high the intake sits.
It will be made to clear V6 swapped protege/323/escorts, so it may work.

Re: Strut bar design
Post #119 has the prices: http://www.clubprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?44154-Strut-bar-design/page8 Weird I know, but perhaps the interest is not there for the MX3 guys. Regardless they will be available from now on any time someone wants one built, but the price will be higher after the GB. Afte...

Re: Strut bar design
I wasnt aware your car didnt exist anymore. Ok well then who else has a Millenia intake? Perhaps maybe the MX3 has a different hood line that is sloped more then the BG cars. The ebay bar that is on my escort is 3/8" below that rear hood seal edge and still has at least another inch before it w...

Re: Strut bar design
Where was the bar touching the hood at? middle or sides?
Honestly measurements are key here.

Re: Strut bar design
Thanks for the pictures. Comparing those pictures with the ones Jim posted of the second version, the front bar should clear, but the rear bar may not, regardless some extra height will be added to the bar. Someone that is running a Millenia manifold can give me a measurement that would be great. Wh...

Re: Strut bar design
We are working on trying to make it fit, but we need people with these engines to get us some measurements so we know if it can be done. Problem is nobody has come through with that yet. How does a Corksport bar fit with a KLZE engine? How much clearance is there from the intake manifold to the bott...
