I have seen brand new aftermarket cats fail etest and then a better quality one put on with no other work to the car and it would pass the test with flying colours

that should be for the evap system, if i am thinking correctly.

it would probably help if you posted the numbers the car is currently getting, that can help with a diagnosis.

make sure your trailing arm bolts are really tight, if they have a chance for a slight amount of movement it can cause a clunking noise.
