Re: Removing gearbox

440 charger probably has more room than a gs under the hood. Another big BOOK scam is the rear struts, it s a joke, you dont even need a spring compressor. The only trick is carefully bending the brake line a bit.

Re: Removing gearbox

Many Garages/Dealers go by THE BOOK when doing mechanical work. To give you an example, to do the timing belt in my car THE BOOK says 6 hrs labour, in reality my mazda mechanic does it in 2.5 hours. The garage will still charge you the 6 hours labour. It does seem sinful when your paying $75 an hour...

Re: hesitation

Just bad gas can even make your check engine light flash & the car run like poo. Happened when I sold my rs, the guy put reserve
gas in. Once he burnt the gas out and put good stuff in ran fine & has ever since (been over a year).

Re: Quicker kick off (question)

Maybe you can find a whole parts car Thats smashed (hit too many roos) or all rusted out & get all the parts you need.

You will have to find an australian MX-3 nut to tell you what you need probably.

Re: car dragging?

Ouch, running out of oil is very VERY bad. Is your check engine light on ? Check the accordian hose from intake to Air filter box (check box too) to start, duct tape tempory fix if anything leaking/Cracked. If everything looks OK there, I d guess distributor, I ve got 2 burnt ones in my garage. Chec...

Re: KLZE MX-3 vs Honda Civic/KLZE fuel economy

Yes, Honda civics are reliable, cheap on gas & parts are generally way cheaper than mazda (just check air filter prices in Canada, $10 & $50 respectively) but a civic is not and probably never will be a sports car, its a cheap Granny go to store (mass produced) little car. When you hit the h...

Re: hesitation

Bad gas/water can cause all sorts of grief. In my experience your main (cannister) fuel filtre causes trouble more often than the one in the tank.

Maybe because it picks up finer particles fron your fuel. Also the cannister has a scheduled maintenace swap & the tank one doesnt on most vehicles.

Re: Quicker kick off (question)

What Motor do you have? Ours come stock with a 1.8 here, if thats what you got you could maybe find a 2.5 Litre engine, KLZE, boosting your horsepower from 130 to 200. Maybe you can find a better motor for 350 there, I hear they are more common. Auto still a drag, but. you can make that free mechani...

Re: WTB: Front and Rear bumpers

There are quite a few MX-3 in local scrap yards, I noticed dunham just got a red MX-3 in last week. I guess my area is too far away for you unless you are planning a trip to Montreal in the near future. Roxton has a sweet front bumper in Black, I know, i just bought the spoiler off it for $35.00 (it...

Re: RPM'S

Mines in the paint shop so I cant do an exact check for you. Off hand i d say it sounds about right. Tire size will affect the accuracy of your speedo & therefore your RPMS. Are you running the recomended 205 55 15 tires ? If not, you should check at your local tire shop to see if your tires are...
