Re: Seriously bucking under full throttle
You can easily tell if your rich or lean by checking a spark plug. If you run too lean for too long you will know about it for sure.

Re: Engine Oil
Thousands of scientists have been working for decades trying to improve on Rubber (which comes from a tree) and they just cant do it, if they gain on one thing (lets say cold crack) they lose on all the other properties like chemical resistance or durability or..... Sometimes man just cannot improve...

Re: KLZE MX-3 vs Honda Civic/KLZE fuel economy
The MX-3 is a sports car if only because it comes as a 2 door coupe. Why dont you soup up your Honda 4 door sedan or Stationwagon (or estate car as they call them over there)

Re: Engine Oil
I guess i m old fashioned but I dont believe in synthetic oil. I dont think man has improved on mother nature yet. I run castrol GTX 5W30 12 months a year, the temps go from -40 to 100 above farenhieht here. My old rs is still running strong with over 300,000 Kms on it. Its doesnt smoke and takes ve...

Re: Engine has been sitting, car has been sitting. Let's do it!!
Definately get rid of those ford valve covers or you will be jinxed for sure. You dont want to have crappy handling, continuos front end problems & need a wheel alignment every month. FORD= found on roads dead. Last time I drove up the rockies there were 11 dead cars on the side of the road, 10 ...

Re: MX3 GS Burning Oil Really Bad Where Do I Start?
Lots of people just REFRESH their motor when they do a swap. Just do the gaskets & seals if it has good compession. You can usually get a deal on a complete engine gasket set if your on a budget.
A complete rebuild will cost you some $$$.

Re: [WTB] 94+ Style A/C Controller (Canadian Style sliders)
Me again. I went to Dunham today and they have a 94 GS with the air conditioner controls you need. It has 1 AC button (no eco button). Strangely the car doesnt seem to have air con in it! If you want to come and get it you will pay less than $50 but as i said before its a hard scrap yard to find (on...

WTB KYB front struts for GS (Canada)
as mentioned above need 2 front KYB struts (right & left) for my 94 GS. I have KYB on back so I thought I would look for front matching ones. I may consider 1 left OEM strut if nothing else turns up.
In Canada please, getting stuff over border costs too much.
Thanks

Re: MX3 GS Burning Oil Really Bad Where Do I Start?
I think I saw someone selling a 1.8 for $200 on the sell forums yesterday, I would start there. If your engine ran that low on oil probably everything is cooked inside.
good luck

Re: 92 mx-3 Redline
I agree, stick with the redline. Overreving can cause a nasty boom and a long oil slick. I once blew a chev 350, we could only find 5 of 16 push rods & the cam was in 2 pieces (the car also filled with smoke at 130 mph). On the bright side, my buddy that was with me still uses the half cam for a...

Re: hesitation
When i pull my GS out in the spring the ce light usually flashes off and on randomly. After I run the car for a week or two the problem clears itself out. I believe when you leave them sit the O2 sensor gets a bit of crud on it and after you run it a while it clears off. One of my local car gurus te...
