I d do the 1 under the hood first & see if it works. If not move along to the tank. Make sure you know the procedure so you dont spray gas all over.

Re: High idle, drops rpm's when giving it the gas
I agree with NinjaJim, its always a good idea to properly inspect the air intake (accordian) hose. I also wanted to mentioned that a blocked catalytic can result in power loss, it does happen on occasion. If you installed a junk yard cat its a remote possibility. good luck

Re: V6 GS How do I remove rear brake calipers?
You should probably invest in a shop book for your mazda, I have a chliton, good for specs(from walmart) but a haynes is more user friendly, u should probably be able to get from auto parts store or canadian tire in Canada. price $25 ish

Re: hesitation
If you get to a stop sign & it stalls, but starts right up after a bit, its probably fuel filter. Change your fuel filter & add some gas line antifreeze (in case of water in gas). Fill her up with super

Re: 1994 MX3 v6
It does sound like head gasket. First check your oil cap for grey/whitish foam or sludge (maybe inside valve cover too, check thruogh hole with light). If you have a lot of that, u best do head gasket or change engine, coolant leaking into oil (may show on dipstick as well). Driving like this will w...

Re: HELP ME PLEASE ENGINE PROBLEMS
Before you do anything check the plastic pipe from Intake (throttle body) to box, your main air intake. If it is cracked it can cause all kinds of grief. another cheap junk yard part & a common problem.

Re: High idle, drops rpm's when giving it the gas
I had almost exactly the same problem last year with mine, took it into mazda and the went through everything (TPS, CPU ect). When i took it in I said I thought it was the distrutor/Coil, thats what it was in the end. I had taken the car into the local garage (not mazda dealer) for compression test,...

Re: quick and easy compression testing
As far as I know a compreesion test s/b done with a warm engine, plugs out, to get optimum results. You might find that your psi difference between cylinders is less with a warm engine. sounds like good numbers to me anyways. Since you havent started your engine up, you may have a little more or les...

Re: At this time, are you a Present, Past, or Future MX-3 Owner?
I m a past & present mx-3 owner. I started about 5 or 6 years ago with a 94 rs 1.6 twincam 5 spd, loved the car so much because cheap to run & reliable (Parts not that cheap though), fun go cart. Got a chance and upgraded to V-6 few years ago (summer driver only, salt here) and loved my mx-3...
