Need Clutch Work Southern Indiana Area
It appears my car finally needs a clutch job, has problems in high torque situations. RPMs climb but car doesn't accelerate until you take your foot off the gas to lower RPM enough for it to somewhat catch up. I guess that isn't bad considering the car has 209,000 on it and the clutch has never been...

AC Air conditioner Refill High Side Port
Searched and searched, in the engine bay, online and here. 1993 MX-3 Originally R-12 (until a line broke 10 years ago). I've replaced some AC components and now I'm in the middle of vacuuming out the system. The directions i've seen would have me hook the manifold gauge up to both Low and High sides...

Re: Poor heat, heater core?
Well, here we are again in freezing temps two years later and for anyone else having this issue, I never have figured it out yet! Since my original post, I have replaced the thermostat with a 180 one. In the process, I cracked an original thermostat housing and had the fun expense of replacing it (n...

Re: Removing Speed Sensor
Just thought I'd reply to this post as I did get the speedo sensor removed and transaxle fluid filled back up. Maybe this will help someone else. Since I couldn't pry the speedo sensor out from the top, I jacked the car up and tapped it out from the bottom. I positioned a decent flat head screwdrive...

Removing Speed Sensor
I just dumped my transmission fluid and need to refill it. 93-rs I located the speed sensor in order to remove it and use this spot to add the fluid. I got the bolt and speedo cable removed. I'm just a little at a loss to figure out the best way to pry this gear out of the transmission housing. Plus...

Re: Oh boy, screeching sound after cv axle, strut and tie ro
Thanks for all your replies! ??? Don't know, I have been driving my Miata and left this car sitting in the parking lot for a week after returning that night to try to start it, no go. When I returned to check it once more before preparing to have it towed home, it just started on the second try. I d...

Re: Oh boy, screeching sound after cv axle, strut and tie ro
Oh And It Gets Better............. I just took the car up the street to get some gas in it because it was on empty. After I got gas I was driving back home and the car started running very very rough for a few seconds. It died and now it will not restart. It turns over, but no start... Far too dark ...

Oh boy, screeching sound after cv axle, strut and tie rod
Finally finished up (mostly) what I was going to do on this car. I've had it up on jack stands in my driveway for at least a month due to various problems with part mix ups, Advance Auto screwing up constantly, weather and a PITA driver's side Axle removal. I finished installing two new front struts...

Re: Poor heat, heater core?
Did you check coolant level? Yeah, I had to top the coolant off after flushing out the heater core. It lost some coolant when it was disconnected and blown out with compressed air and CLR. Afterwards, I also left the radiator cap off for a bit to try to get any air out of the system. It does seem l...

Poor heat, heater core?
Since this car seemed to have poor heat for a while now, I decided to clean out the heater core before winter. Got it cleaned out and the car does have some decent heat now. Not piping hot but warm. However, one thing I have noticed is that when the car is at stop, idle, the heat coming out becomes ...

Re: Where to get uncut keys?
I would just like to chime in that I too am weary of busted Mx-3 keys. It's not the length as much as the shallow footprint of the key cut that makes it crack and break when using it on the door locks. I don't know how many keys I have had made, but it is a lot. Much more than reasonable, considerin...

Re: Weird Acceleration - nothing happens, jerks back
I did get around to checking the engine codes, it didn't have any error codes. The vehicle is running better now. It does die here and there but nothing like before. What did I do? Nothing. I had Seafoamed the engine, recoated the air pipe with silicon, checked the plugs and wires, replaced the valv...

"Hmm, mine always vibrate loose and start rattling. Never had a problem tightening or loosening them... Weird!"
Sounds like you may need some of that blue screw and nut sealant, prevents them from rattling loose.

Re: Weird Acceleration - nothing happens, jerks back
Thanks for the replies, I haven't had time to check anything on it yet, I was just getting a few ideas of what to start checking. I've been driving my Miata and had to spend October working on my Cadillac Hearse, but I'm getting ready to put the Miata up for the year and start driving the Mx-3. I'll...

Weird Acceleration - nothing happens, jerks back
Anyone have this happen? You push gas pedal, no acceleration. Car Chokes. Then all the sudden it jerks back to acceleration. Going to stop. RPM dips down and climbs back up. Sometimes during the dip the car will die. I thought I had a problem like this licked before by sealing the MAS rubber tube. I...
