Correct TPS kohm readings?
I've tested TPS's from a few different engines all coming from rs's and the highest reading I get when fully open is approximately 3.4 Kohm and .500 when completely closed on all of them. Does anyone elses TPS go higher? I ask because I obviously suspect a faulty TPS and the book states approximatel...

Re: Ford F2T or FS DE in an MX-3
The F2T is gone and I doubt I will see another for a while. If I can find a BP at the time of purchase I will more than likely take the trodded path. It's just that I have been able to find the FS DE more often. The more I look into the FS DE I'm liking it more and more. It has roughly 130 hp with t...

Re: Ford F2T (2.2L Turbo)? in an MX-3
I had thought of this swap only because I thought it was readily available. Appearantly not as the pull yard is also a very active recycler. So the motor is gone. Now nowing the j-yard lifetime of a vehicle and some of the more frequent vehicles there I've been looking into a possible FS DE 2.0 swap...

http://www.corksport.com/corksport-power-series-header-for-1.6-mx3.html secret weapon-r intake B6T rods, Eagle rods, Pauter rods (<-probably overkill->) Carrillo rods I've found quite a few rods that claim to be "made of forged 4340 steel" for relatively cheap (slightly cheaper than Eagles...

Ford F2T or FS DE in an MX-3
Well, while at a somewhat local pull yard I found a 2.2L turbo engine (almost complete) in a '90 Ford Probe. Upon inspection it looks like it will most definitely fit in any SOHC MX. I myself have a '95 DOHC RS MX. I'm generating plenty of ideas with a swap of sorts. I'd like to keep it DOHC with po...

Re: what do you think of these rims on my 323 gt
I really don't know alot about rim sizes just tryin to stay within factory spec and still get a lil flavor.
Right now my 323 is factory black that's been faded over the years but I plan on painting it flat black

Re: Smoking when started and oil in the exhaust ports
Thanks for the leakdown explanation.
Could you elaborate more on the oil drain back holes? (location, what to look for,how to fix)

Re: Smoking when started and oil in the exhaust ports
I understand a compression test but not so much the leak down test. What should I be looking for while/after testing? It doesn't smoke heavily while driving after all the oil is burnt but I do notice very light smoke while deceleration or in the first second of acceleration and not so much while coa...

Re: Smoking when started and oil in the exhaust ports
... I've just found oil in my intake. I understand a bad pcv could be the culprit but does this either deny or validate bad valve stem seals? How about the piston rings?

Smoking when started and oil in the exhaust ports
Ok, the topic pretty much states it all. When I got the car the previous owner told me it smokes sometimes when started and it needs a new head gasket, which was obvious. I did some research and consulted with some mechanics and came to the conclusion that the valve seals were bad. I pulled the head...

Will any of these headers fit?
I'm looking for a new exhaust system for my '95 1.6L DOHC RS and would like to use headers. I've not found any headers made specifically for a DOHC MX-3 but I have found this website here: http://www.racepages.com/products/?Ntt=Headers&N=1667 Will any of these headers fit my engine? If so, which...
