Re: Demonic1's "Phoenix" 92 RS BP *Swapping again*

All good so far. The engine drives well. Seems to be missing a bit on the low end. She doesn't even start picking up until 3k rpms. Then the VTEC kicks in yo! I've only got 250 miles on her so far, after the weekend I'll torque all the bolts again. I took her over the mountain yesterday on my way ho...

Re: [FS] Leftovers!

I just got my Mx3 back on the road Tuesday. I'm not sure she's ready for the trip. Either we will or we won't, I'll have a raised RS spoiler eventually.

Re: [FS] Leftovers!

What kind of deal could we work on maybe a 50/50 meeting place on the RS spoiler?
I'm located down in Ravensdale WA 98051, but I can't cross the border. Well unless I wanted to go through the EDL nonsense.

Edit** Mt. Vernon looks like about the midpoint.

Re: Demonic1's "Phoenix" 92 RS BP *Swapping again*

SO, my DD 94 Ford Escort LX finally sh-t the bed on me the other day. Sunday night to be exact. I woke up Monday and looked it over, and it appears to either be a cracked head or it dropped a valve seat. Sounds like sh-t but it runs. Monday at noon, I decided I would stop building the BP and actuall...

Re: The Ultra Mooneggs Finish

I'd been looking at doing this to my car too. I like how the flat black looks. I think that I'll grab a couple rattle cans and do my wheels and see how it looks. Totally thinking about going to home depot and getting the sprayer. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?prod...

Re: Painted valve covers.

I watched a tonne of those hydro dipping tutorials but the places that have the material are limited in designs. But I thought about maybe a plaid interior peices hydro dipped. I currently have both the Ford and Mazda valve covers, but I was thinking about finding the Kia and painting it pink. Figur...

Painted valve covers.

So, I know a few of you have painted/powdercoated your valve covers. I've seen relatively few pictures. I'm wondering if any of you have done anything "different" with them? I saw a miata BP with oriental-style flowers on it in another forum. I'm currently painting my smaller peices and lo...

Re: Demonic1's "Phoenix" 92 RS BP *Swapping again*

No, I love this thing too much. I'm looking into custom plates but it appears the guy I bought my first one off of stole my idea ZOOMX-3 I think I'll go with LUVCRVS cause it means so many things. I'm looking into buying a Escort GT right now. I found one with a bad tranny... and wouldn't you know i...

Re: Demonic1's "Phoenix" 92 RS BP *Swapping again*

So in the long stagnant period in where I haven't posted much.... I bought a junkyard BP, listed at 69k miles. During the swap I found part of a sticker saying they replaced the timing belt at 100k 4 years prior. So I got took by a junk yard. Going over the engine it looked like it'd been worked on ...

Re: Camshaft cap bolts/guides

So, I stopped through the local hardware store and picked up some 6mmx40mm 10.9 grade bolts and a set of washers. They may not be as pretty as the old ones but they felt more solid while I was torquing them down. They're tempered bolts and should be good. I'll pull the valve cover in about 500 miles...

Camshaft cap bolts/guides

So the other day I was replacing my valve stem seals. While torquing down the camshaft caps I broke one of the bolts. Usual song and dance to drill out the bolt and Easy-out the thing. But I also damaged the guide for that hole. So I'm looking for a place online or otherwise that would have the bolt...

Re: B6 SOHC going turbo, need advice

B6T - (78.0x83.6 mm) - The ubiquitous turbocharged, fuel-injected and intercooled 16-valve DOHC B6 Without proper tuning and engine management it will run like garbage. You're trying to turbo a SOHC using DOHC specs. There are numerous other issues such as camshaft timing, air-fuel ratios, spool rat...
