Re: Official Rant thread.
I'm also the guy who spends all his time working on other people's cars for nothing in return. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I actually like doing it, but when people go do something like that.... Then I feel like I'm wasting my time. I have a friend who owns a Probe who does this to me a...

"for the KLZE"?
So 7 nipple caps?
I have a 94 disty from a K8, but it will work on your KLZE... And it actually works to boot.

Re: High oil temps
They should all loop around, thats how they maintain equal secondary lengths for better torque characteristics. What you can do if you're concerned, is wrap the exhaust around the pan area. I did that

Also assuming you did it with a hot engine? Throttle wide open?

Never heard of that confusion before, I'll go edit the post.
Glad you got it sorted out though![2 Thumbs Up :2thumbsup:](./images/smilies/2thumbsup.gif)

Re: High oil temps
I'd also cross check the gauge. My oil temps can exceed 250F, but only if cruising over 4000 RPM on a hot day, or racing on a track longer than a minute or two. I also have an oil cooler delete. Also, loads in the cylinders at idle are minimal. A 'quick' check on the rings is to do a WOT 2nd gear pu...

Re: [GI] Wraparound spoilers
I have a few caps, but I'd like those to go with the spoilers first... if this doesn't pan out, I'm done holding onto these things, into the crap can they go.

[GI] Wraparound spoilers
I have at least 4 of these.
I'm planning to make a trip across the border, and ship it from within ND, in order to cut the prohibitive shipping cost down.
$50 + S&H a piece, any takers?

Re: No response under heavy throttle?
The 4 cyls disty problems were faaaar less common than the v6.
I'd check engine codes, first of all. The issue you describe sounds like a bad air flow meter connection. The clip isn't normal, so a lot of people tend to break it.

Re: Fender Bars
These are actually a fantastic idea because our chassis is cheap and flexible. Adding these will give better hard cornering feel. The strut towers are just sheet metal, and probably half rusted out by now, too.

Re: The "Quick Question" Thread
The only time I experienced brake fade with my MX was doing circuit racing with stops from 170-80 in 5 minute sessions.
In autox, not even close.
Just wondering if you're putting your efforts in the right place?

Re: K8 vs KL oil pump
I read somewhere on PT that Mellings makes an as-good-as-oem replacement. I'm running it. I race every other weekend (when I'm home) and I've had no problems whatsoever, with a rev happy setup.

Re: Ryan's Final Build
Home from a 3 week stint up north. Going to an AutoX tomorrow. GF drove the car while I was gone with no problems. Just have to change the tires back over... Unfortunately I'm headed back up in a few days, so I won't have any time to install my new goodies. MS is almost done, just a few more hours a...

Re: K8 vs KL oil pump
Exactly the same. The Toga pump is basically a ripoff. All they have done is opened the case (perhaps even used cores), machined the housing a few thou to reduce side clearance, and then marked it up a bunch. It gives you a small linear increase but might grenade the pump if they machined off square...
