Re: Charlie's no budget mid engine build
Possible to paint the model with something very flat and non reflective?
You'll be re-modelling it anyway, so I wonder how perfect of a scanned in model you need, perhaps only enough to trace over ?
Super cool.

Re: klde swap info
There is absolutely no difference between an MX-3 and a Probe transmission. You're just not using a big enough hammer. Pay attention to the circlip too. Use MX-3 axles, probe ones are not the correct length due to the different wheel base. The tripot (transmission side) should be the same between ax...

Any mechanic worth his salt can hear a broken timing belt when cranking.
There are also pretty good bore scopes these days.
But we digress.

Re: B6 SOHC going turbo, need advice
0.8bar is like 11 PSI. You can't do that on the standard ECU. At almost double atmospheric, your ignition requirements will change. Fuel can be patched with aftermarket FPR's (to a degree, I doubt 11 PSI) but ignition... its cheaper to buy a new ECU. Find the GTX/GTR one, or MS1 is only like $300 sh...

Re: Another wont start thread
A compression test doesn't involve removing the valvecovers, and 0 PSI points to a valve issue.
It would also probably run on 4 cylinders... sound like a tractor though.

Re: Funny but real swap question
Correct that the orientation of the bolts on the primary to y-pipe flange changes between K8 and KL. Depends what ypipe you wanna use. To bolt back onto your exhaust, you want K8. As far as I know, they're the same anyway. The only headers that require modification of the crossmember are the Paceset...

Re: MX3 dohc question
You may be interested to know that the bearing in the midshaft is a serviceable part, so unless you ruined splines, there may be no need to source an entirely new shaft.

You sir, are one scary a-- driver.
I strongly suggest you attend a racing school of some sort before you kill yourself or someone else. There MUST be an auto club near you that provides such a thing. Then you will actually know how to drive fast, instead of crashing all the time.

If you're talking about the Miata crowd "big nose/small nose reliability" thing... just don't. Its such a rare failure.

Being jam packed with sensitive electrical components, I'd try harder to keep it away from devices that create strong magnetic fields like blower motors.
