^ I'm with him. If this is one bolt holding engine and transmission bell housing together - and all the others are there, tight and no gaps between then no worries.
This isn't a bolt that mounts the transmission or engine to frame, right?

Re: New axle problems...
Tie rod ends are a suspect - if they develop too much play you will definitely hear a clunk from them at low speed turns (like parking lot maneuvers). I personally have a hard time testing the outer tie rod unless I get it out of the steering spindle. Ball joints you can usually test with the wheel ...

Re: Stock exhaust studs(manifold to downpipe)
FWIW part # is 230613456 My guess (haven't measured) is these are 10M x 1.5 studs. Dorman sells those Help kits that might do the trick - try Dorman 03133. Also I've found my local Ace has most metric studs that you might need. Though it is helpful to have a stud or at least the nut in hand to confi...

Re: Issues related to O2 sensors
I'm assuming this is all KLDE - the the throttle body, IAC and intake. So the IAC is the one with the huge vacuum port that mates with the intake using a very hard to install funny L tube. I do think that if mechanically there is nothing in the way of the throttle plate closing then you do have an a...

Re: 93 MX-3 V6 hesitation issue(edited4/25/12)
Timing = synchronizing piston position to spark If your timing was great and you wanted to keep it then you would have lined up crank pulley to 0 deg and marked the distributor position before you remove it. If you did not have to remove the distributor you can turn the crank shaft not worry - timin...

Re: Issues related to O2 sensors
Never heard or experienced high idle with bad O2 sensor. Hesitation and bad mpg - but always saw an O2 sensor CEL. I don't want to make this more complicated then it needs to be but your 97 engine was originally connected to OBD2 ECU. Could some of the sensors - including the O2 be different? Did yo...

Re: Running Millenia wire harness/ KL47 ECU / MAF & Milli mo
Using Millenia harness will simplify some of the wiring (maybe not for gauges though), but the Millenia ECU controls an automatic transmission. You'll have CEL constantly or have to do some fancy simulation to trick it. On PT you'll find lots of info around this topic under the threads for MAF conve...

Re: New ECU = new fun :) / now with slight issue
You might start with the fan (apply power and confirm it stays on) and work your way back. Don't know if your fan and wiring to it are original equipment. My personal experience is corrosion in the connector to the fan and then a year later the fan itself giving up completely. Of course you may find...

Confirming the universal Denso O2 sensors work great. A minor advantage for me was the rear connector was very difficult to reach so I just spliced from under the car.

Re: KLZE dipstick
I think the dipsticks for K engines are all the same. And for K engines they should read full at 4L of oil in the pan. I do know the plastic loops at the top will sometimes pull off - is is possible they will slide lower thereby holding the dipstick higher in the pan? Other explanations: oil not all...

Re: Kl-de swap hints and tips please:)
^Never used the F1 clutch kit but can endorse the Clutchmasters clutch kit as being solid quality over the last 20K miles for me. IMO engine dress up w/ powder coating is after it is running sweetly. But if you can do this for little money then go for it. I agree the oil pump is easier to replace wi...

Re: extreme low idle and throttle body spacer
I think it worth a try to just go the the idle screw and loosen it a bit for higher idle. Assume: Timing is good TB is clean Idle Air Controller is good and clean Your throttle position sensor is set - if not search for TPS and do it right with a multimeter and feeler gauge Re: Spacer - guessing spa...

It seems you've done this before, but you have to separate the engine and tranny horizontally before moving one or the other vertically.
Day old thread so hoping you've got it sorted already.

Re: Can't pass emissions.... need help!
^ good info and SuperK is exactly right. An ignition tune up won't hurt if you haven't done one in a while, but a new catalytic converter is what you'll need to pass your emissions test. High flow units aren't as restrictive, but also don't clean the exhaust as well. There is a reason the high flow ...

Re: Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator Results
Yes single outlet muffler will be somewhat quieter than 2 outlets. Daninski's resonator is basically a straight through muffler. I use a magnaflow universal muffler as a resonator (4"x20" w/ 2.25" in and outlet). My muffler - basically OEM MX6 muffler was too loud alone. The baffled m...
